"I think this is the one." I hear Lucky say from inside the chaging booth. Bronwyn said her feet hurt from walking around all day which was strange because we didn't even walk that much but we decided to let her rest and try on the clothes we picked already.
"Bet. Let's see it then." Answers Bronwyn. Lucky pulls the curtain back and she steps out wearing a light pink leather dress that stops mid thigh. It hugs her body perfectly. She has a simple gold choker around her neck and she's wearing pink high heels that are open toed with a bit of pink fuzz.
"Holy shit Lucky, it just screams you."
"Yeah. It looks beautiful on you." I say as she spins around and poses. "I know right. She's magnificent. Come on Quinn, you're up next." She goes back into the changing room to undress and I gather my clothes together.
"I told you parties were fun. Look at you going to your second one." I chuckle and soon Lucky emerges. I get up and she takes my seat next to Bronwyn as I go into the changing room. It takes me a few minutes but I finally find an outfit that looks comfortable enough to wear.
I'm so tired of wearing dresses that I decided on a black, leather pants, paired with a black, sparkly, off the shoulder crop top and black heels.
"Fucking hell Quinn. You look gorgeous." I smile at Bronwyn's commentary and do some poses showing off my legs. Lucky fans her face. "Ooh la la." I can't help but giggle as I go back into the booth.
I'm glad I managed to find a nice outfit. I've been spending a lot of time looking at my mom's Instagram and looking at pictures of the fashion shows she's attended. I'm starting to pick up a few things on fashion and aesthetics. Last but not least is Bronwyn and she comes out with a long blouse that's like a dress, paired with white strappy heels.
"It looks gorgeous on you bae but seriously? Do you know how bland that looks on your beautiful body?" Lucky asks and I agree but in my head. If that's what Bronwyn wants to wear then she should wear it. "I think it looks stunning and it's a nice choice."
"I know this isn't what I usually wear but I don't feel like dressing up for this party. Plus it's a good way to hide my stomach." She shrugs and does a twirl before going back into the booth. "Wait, hold up." Lucky stands up. "Hide your stomach? Bitch you're skinny. Why would you want to hide your stomach?"
I nod. "She's right. You shouldn't feel an ounce of insecurity." Bronwyn raises her eyebrow at me and I look away sheepishly.
She sighs. "Look, Tobias and I were gonna keep this a secret for the rest of our lives but at some point someone is gonna know, and I can't stand keeping it a secret from you, Quinn."
I'm beyond confused. Is she sick or something? Did something bad happen?
"I'm pregnant." She announces and for a minute I don't even register what she just said.
"What?" Lucky asks, as baffled as I am. Bronwyn retrieves her bag from the booth and takes out a black and white picture. She shows it to us and I realise it's an ultrasound picture and there's a big baby. "But you don't have a bump." Lucky points out. Bronwyn nods. "Yeah, apparently the baby is pushed back to my spine which is why I'm not showing. It's not dangerous though but she's there."
"How far along are you?" I ask. I'm in complete shock. All this time Bronwyn has been pregnant and I never noticed. I'm extremely happy for her and Tobias though.
"Thirty four weeks. Eight months. Can we eat something after this? I'm starving." She rubs her stomach and my eyes follow her gesture. There's a baby in there. I jump up and hug her. She stumbles in surprise before she wraps her arms around me. "Quinn-"
