24) young love (pt.1 of 2)

Scarlett's POV
The next day I got up and got ready for school. Went downstairs and sat at the counter "good morning bambina." Mama said "good morning mama." I say not looking up from my phone. I've been texting Sarah all morning and we fell asleep on FaceTime last night. "Here eat something before school Scarlett." Mom said "I'm not hungry I'll just get something to eat later." I say "sweetie you need to eat something." Mom said "I'm fine I promise." I say getting my bag. "Hey mama your taking me and Andi to school today right?" I asked "yes bella why?" She asked "Sarah needs a ride and I was wondering if you would pick her up." I say "yes we can." She says after Andi gets done eating we leave and go get Sarah.
We get to Sarah's and I text her that we're here. She gets in the back with me. "Thank you Mrs.Deluca-Bishop." Sarah tells mama "it's no problem bambina." Mama says and we head to school. After getting to school we all get out me and Andi both say 'love you bye' to mama she says it back and also tells Sarah bye. "You all have a good day." She said and we all walk away and go to mine and andi locker "you okay Andi?" I asked "I'm just worried." She say "why ?" I asked "I sent 3 essay to colleges a few weeks ago and haven't heard back yet." She tells me "first off wow we're freshman and your already talking to colleges. Also that's awesome. I'm sure they have other essay to read." I tell her "your right no need to worry." She says and gets her books "okay I got to go I'll see you both at lunch." Andi says and walks off " thank you for getting your mama to pick me up." Sarah said "it's not a problem they don't mind it at all." I tell her "so you ready for the meet this weekend?" Sarah asked "I guess." I say "what's wrong normally your excited for them." She says "I'm excited I just feel like I haven't practiced enough." I tell her "if you want we could practice today after school coach said we don't have practice but me and you can still practice." She said "yea sure we can do that. I'll text moms at lunch and tell them." I tell her she grabs my hand. "Sweet let's get to class so we aren't late." She says as she drags me to class.

After school we had practice. Me and Sarah got to practice and the whole team was there. "Alright boys and girls let's get this going." Coach said I looked at Sarah "I thought it was girls one week and boys the next." I say " that's what I thought to." She said as we walked over to Summer. We where all stretching and getting ready to do a few laps. "So today we are going to get in name the people run in the 200m and the Hurdles." Coach said we all line up "wow look who showed up." Kelly said "leave me alone Kelly." I say "okay so for Hurdles for the boys we have Jason Anderson, Cade Johnson, and Cody Thompson. For the girls we have Summer Evens, Elisabeth Wilson and Kamden Cannon. For the 200m for the girls we have Scarlett Deluca-Bishop, Sarah Campbell and Kelly Johnson. For the boys we have Cody Thompson, Jay Blue and Josh White." Coach tells us after coach told us about who was doing what we all went and practice for a while.

After practice me and Sarah where walking to my house "so why do you think Cody's running in 2 events?" Sarah asked me "maybe cause he's good." I say "yea right." She says with a giggle. "Are you ready for the meet?" Sarah asked "yea I'm ready to beat you." I say joking "you can't beat me I'm the fastest one." She tells me "bet race you home." I say and take off running "hey no fair." Sarah yells and runs after me.

"Ha I win." Sarah said and she gets to my front door. "Just cause I let you." I say "you upset I won?" She asked as she grabs my hand. "No not at all I can handle losing once. But I'll win at the meet." I tell her pulling her close to me. "Is that so?" She asked I nod yes "come on let go in before your moms come out here." She says pulling away "wait not yet." I say "why?" She asked moving closer again "because this." I say then lean in to kiss her. She kisses back "okay love birds mamas cooking dinner let's go." I hear mom say behind us. "Okay okay ." I say and we all walk inside.

Me and Sarah go to my room "door open girls." Mom yells "we know mom." I yell back "so homework then we can watch a movie." Sarah said "how about movie then homework." I say with a smirk "no no we have homework and we need to get it done." Sarah says going though her stuff "fine I guess." I say as we sit at my desk. It's been about 30 minutes of us working on homework "ugh I do understand why we have to do this." I say "it helps you remember stuff you learn." She tells me "I don't think so." I say and get up to lay on my bed "oh come on its not that bad." She tells me turning in the chair to look at me. "It's hard I don't understand it." I say over dramatic and put my pillow over my head Sarah doesn't say anything. I move the pillow "I don't see how your so good at it. It's so difficult." I say "it's not that hard scar." She tells me "Girls dinners ready." We hear mama yell. "Yay saved by mama." I say "you think your funny." Sarah says " oh I am funny sweetie." I say and kiss her cheek and run downstairs. We all sat at the table to eat mama had already fixed plates for everyone. I sat there staring at my plate knowing it was to much. "Bambina you okay?" Mama asked me "yea I'm fine" I tell her "okay eat it's getting cold." She says i just nod and pushed food around. I feel a hand on my thigh and look at Sarah; she gives me the look of 'are you sure your okay.' And I just nod at her. Everyone was pretty much done as I sat there with a full plate of food "can I go to my room please." Andi asked "yes sweetie." Mom said "kiddo you need to eat." Mom said "but I'm not hungry and plus I eat lunch today which I don't normally do." I tell her that wasn't the whole truth tho. I felt Sarah's hand move from my thigh to my hand on the table. "Just a little bambina." Mama said "I said I'm not hungry." I rise my voice and pull my hand away from Sarah and go to my room. I lay on my bed waiting for Sarah to get done and come up to my room before she had to leave.
