58) I'm sorry....

Scarlett's pov

Sarah and i walked out of the room to get some air. Sarah didn't know what was going on because to be honest I'm not so sure myself; but I do know that mama didn't look very happy. She had the face she had when she had to tell Andi and I about our zio Andrea. So I know it's not the best news but I am hoping for the best for Sarah.

A few hours later Andi had made it to the hospital. "What took you so long?" I asked "nothing just stayed at school to finish some stuff." She says I just nod we all sit and wait on mama to come get us. By the time mom gets there mama is walking up to us with that same look as before. Andi and I share a look knowing it can't be good but I don't know what the news will be. " Maya can you take the girls I need to speak with Sarah." Mama said mom nodded "can Scarlett stay please?" Sarah asked " if that's what you want." Mama tells her she nods and holds my hand tight. "Come on Andi. We will see you all at the house." Mom said as they leave.

Mama takes me and Sarah to her office and asked us to sit on her couch. "Sarah do you know where your dad is?" Was the first question mama asked. I thought to myself I knew it "no ma'am I don't I can call him." She said just above a whisper "let's call him see if he can come home." She said and with that it clicked in my head and I guess it also clicked in Sarah's head to "she's not gonna make it is she ma'am ?" Sarah said trying to hold back tears. " I'm so sorry Sarah the doctors did everything they could do." Mama told her. When those words came from mamas mouth Sarah couldn't hold the tears no more she was in my arms crying and I just held her. "Mama call her dad." I told mom and gave her his number.

A little while later Sarah had fallen asleep in my arms on mamas couch as we waited for Sarah's dad. The doctors couldn't do anything until he got here according to mama. "Mama?" I said "yes Bella?" She said "how do I make her pain go away?" I asked "sweetie you can't but you can be there for her you know how it is to lose someone that is close to you be there for her love her like I know you do." She tells me and I just nodded my head.

I guess I ended up falling asleep waiting but when I woke up Sarah was still cuddled up to me sleeping soundly. I just hope I can help her. I just don't know what to do.
