Adrian POV
Holy crap! I kissed Bagnold! Bagnold kissed me. This can't be real. Am I hallucinating? Was it a dream?
I could stop thinking about the way she had jumped right into my arms the previous evening. The way her lips had moved against mine. The way our tongues had fought for dominance.
A loud bang at the door interrupted my thoughts. "Get the fuck out Adrian. You have been in there for an hour! We all need to shower." Cassius bellowed.
"I will be out in a jiffy," I yelled back as I wrapped a towel around myself and stumbled out of my dorm shower. Cassius shoved me out of his way as he rushed in and banged the door shut.
"I will go another day without a shower." Lucian Bole declared.
I eyed Marcus Flint sitting on his bed with a broken jaw. He deserves it. I hastily put on my clothes grabbed my bag and headed out of the dorm.
"Where are you off to so early?" Lucian yelled as I left.
"I am hungry." I lied.
I bumped into Pansy in the Slytherin common room.
"Adrian!" She caught my wrist as I tried to scurry away from her. Her grip was tight.
"What do you want?" I snapped at her.
"Who is your plus 1 for the Slytherin ball this year? She will be making an entrance into the ball with you and the rest of the Quidditch team, so we need to plan outfits. It has to look elegant and aesthetically pleasing. It can't be like last year. Higgs' date walked down in a bubblegum pink gown and ruined it for all of us."
"I will let you know." I tried to wriggle out my wrist from her clasp.
"A Slytherin girl would be preferrable."
"I will think about that." She let go and I ran out of the dungeons before anyone else could stop me.
I was desperate to catch Bagnold before the start of classes and headed straight for the library. The library looked empty to most average users. But not to me. I went right into the far end of the rectangular room and took a turn into the second last row of bookshelves. The books sat there collecting dust no one in the past 10 years had touched these books. At the end of this bookshelf right along the window wall ran a narrow perpendicular path that not very many people knew existed. And there she was hidden away in her favorite corner sitting on the floor with her Ravenclaw tie wrapped around her wrist reading a fat book. My heart raced as I walked closer to her.
What should I say to her? Will she kiss me again? I should have come prepared with a speech.
She chewed on her lips, her wavy hair was tied high in a ponytail, and she had the top 2 buttons of her school uniform undone.
"Good morning." I smiled.
"Morning." She said without lifting her head from the book. "The make-out section is 2 aisles away. Go back from where to came from and walk to the last row of books." She pointed a finger in the said direction.
"Care to join me?" I asked confidently. My heart was going to explode.
Her head jerked in my direction, and she reached out for her wand. Her expression changed as soon as her eyes fell on me.
"Pucey, didn't expect to find you here." She smiled. No scoff, no eye roll, no middle fingers put on display. It was a legitimate smile. I was off to a good start. My face immediately began to radiate heat.
"Err... I ... I ..." I was at a loss for words. "Wouldyouliketogooutwithme?" I squealed.
"Sorry I didn't catch any of it."
