Nancy and Robin did everything together. They had dates every second day, sometimes it was the movies, sometimes dinner, sometimes they would do nothing at all. But both of them loved it.
It felt like a dream, so perfect, so lovely.

It was 10:45 pm and Robin was anxiously awaiting Nancy's daily night call. She sat on her bed fiddling with her thumbs until the phone rang and she pounced on it, she picked it up and was greeted by Nancy's voice "hey!" Robin smiled just hearing Nancy before replying "hey doll" robin grinned the smirk on her face only growing.

On the other side of the line Nancy had gone completely silent, partly due to the fact that if she said anything she would probably mess it up but mostly because she was too flustered to speak.
"I-I-Um" Nancy stuttered out, her cheeks a crimson red. A chuckle could be heard from the other side of the line before Robin continued "what's up?" In a much more causal tone. "N-nothing! just wanted to call" Nancy finally got out.

The two talked about all different things, all of their conversations came with such flow. But that's what Nancy loved about Robin, she was a brilliant talker and always managed to make conversations come so naturally.

After about an hour Nancy's eyelids began to weary and her lips slowed, "I would absolutely love to stay on the phone all night but I'm so tired" Nancy finally yawned out with her eyes shut in her bed, Robin pouted, even though Nancy couldn't see it she felt it "I'll talk to you tomorrow goodnight, doll" Nancy smirked with her sudden confidence, "I-goodnight" Robin replied her tone immediately going from sad to flustered. Her cheeks were bright red as she put down the phone and stuffed her face into her pillow letting out a joyful squeal.

No matter how hard Robin tried she could not fall asleep, she settled on drawing on her bed. The dim light coming from her bedside table was enough to see what she was doing, she started out with little doodles them slowly turning into drawings of Nancy and her, she couldn't get Nancy out of her head, not that it was a bad thing.

Smiling as she drew, her mind got lost in the world she was creating through her drawings, when she next looked over at the alarm clock on her table the numbers read 1am.
Still not feeling tired Robin decided to make something for Nancy, paper hearts. She got up to get the paper picking between various pinks and reds, in the end she settled on choosing one of each colour, in the inside of each heart she wrote a special message just for Nancy, the smile of her face mixed with concentration as she folded the paper carefully.

After a while she was done, she placed the hearts in a red box and stepped back admiring her work.
RING RING
She was snapped back to reality when the phone in her room rang for the second time that night. She glanced at the clock, 1:54 am.
Who was calling this late?

She wearily picked up the phone "hello?" Was the words that came out of her mouth, "Robin?".

Nancy.
Why on earth was she calling this late?

"Nance are you ok?" Robin questioned slightly worried, "umm yeah I just..." Nancy mumbled, her voice coming out wobbly, "nance?" Robin questioned again, more worried now. "I-uh I had a nightmare..." Nancy replied holding back tears that begged to fall. Despite Nancys efforts Robin could hear the desperation and fear in her voice, "I'm coming over" Robin said, the tone of her voice told Nancy not to argue. A sniffle was heard from the end of the line before Robin had put it down and grabbed the red box filled with hearts, her keys and walked out the door.

So that's how she found herself walking in the dark towards Nancys house at 2 am. The air was cold and so was Robin but she was too focused on Nancy to care, luckily it wasn't raining or windy, just dark and cold. By the time she got to the wheelers she was shivering slightly from the cold and partly because she was scared. She walked to the side of the house careful not to make too much noise in case she woke Nancy's parents or brother.
She spotted Nancy's window from the dim light that shone in between the lace curtains and started to climb, red box in one hand.
She reached the top and gently tapped on the window trying to not give Nancy a heart attack.

Nancy pulled the curtains back and a look of relief filled her face. Robin could see her obvious tear stained cheeks along with her red eyes and shaking lips. "Robin..." Nancy breathed out already feeling better, "what happened Nance?" Robin whispered concerned filling her voice as she climbed through the window. Nancy's voice was shaking when she spoke, "I-I had a dream about the upside down and I couldn't find you and...". Robin could tell she was fighting back tears and hugged her tightly, "it's ok now. I'm here" she reassured, a couple tears fell from Nancy's eyes but she quickly wiped them away, after a little crying and when her breathing went back to normal, she wiped her eyes and stood up looking at the other girl who had only a t-shirt and shorts on, "Jesus Christ Robin aren't you cold??" She muttered looking in her cupboard for something she could wear, "a little" Robin said trying to cover up that she was actually very cold but the goosebumps on her arms and her slightly blue lips gave her away.

Nancy pulled a oversized jumper out of her closet and handed it to Robin "here put this on" and Robin gladly accepted.

"What's that?" Nancy said looking at the red box in Robin's hands, "oh, um- well I couldn't sleep so I made these, it's not much and it's not very well done but I really hope you like them" Robin blurted out handing the box to Nancy while avoiding eye contact in case Nancy hated the small gift.
But of course Nancy would never, she opened the box and looked at the many different hearts sitting in the box, "Robin..." she sighed softly admiring the hearts, "they-um have messages inside them" Robin murmured just loud enough for nancy to hear. Nancy picked up the hearts reading all of the sweet messages inside them and quietly gasping at all of them, Robin sat in the awkwardness while Nancy studied and admired each one.

"I love them" Nancy breathed after reading all of the notes, Robins face was flushed but she was smiling trying to contain her joy.

Nancy brought her hands to robins cheeks and held her head so Robin had to look at her, "they are perfect... just like you" Nancy complimented making Robin turn a deep shade of red, Nancy leaned in kissing Robin softly and Robin gladly kissed back. Nancy pulled away "thank you... for everything" she whispered into Robin's ear before returning to the kiss.

Nancy had almost completely forgot about the nightmare, when Robin was around she felt safe.

The two cuddled up in bed Robin holding nancy all through the night preventing anymore nightmares she might have, luckily nothing else disrupted them during the night and they both slept soundly.

Nancy really liked Robin.
In fact Nancy thinks she may even love Robin.
