Robin x Nancy // maybe we aren't that different

Chapter 11: my tie

(This chapter is just based on a cute little scenario in my head and isn't that long)

Robin looked at herself int he mirror fussing over her outfit: a collared shirt and a lose tie with grey pants and an oversized blazer.
On this occasion Nancy had invited her to go on a picnic after her work ended and she wanted to look good. She walked over to her dresser pulling out the very little makeup she had and putting it on.

When she got to work Steve immediately noticed that Robin looked better than normal since she normally didn't put too much effort into her appearance. "Why do you look so nice?" Steve asked eyeing her, "rude" Robin replied frowning a little. "I mean you normally don't have makeup on" he said extending a finger to poke at her face, "well normally I wouldn't be doing things after work" Robin finished her head held high looking away from Steve, "well... what are you doing?" Steve inquired now increasingly curious as to where she was going. "Don't worry about it" Robin replied vaguely making Steve more curious and annoyed at her answer, "hmmph" he murmured in response frustrated.

It was Saturday one of their busiest days and the two were running around after customers trying to keep everything in order. By the end of the day they hadn't talked much because of the overwhelming amount of people to be helped and jobs to be done.

After Steve hurries out their final customer and moves the sign on the door to say "closed" they finally spoke about something other than work "so...?" Steve inquired "what?" Robin replied having no clue as to what he was trying to suggest, "where are you going? After work I mean" Steve said his tone clearly hopeful he would get a better answer than last time, "none. Of. Your. Business." Robin replied pausing after each word to emphasise her point. Steve rolled his eyes "but we tell each other everything!" He groaned out, "Not today we don't". She finished grabbing her stuff and walking out the door "bye bye Stevie!"

She rushed outside and went around the back of the store where Nancy was waiting in her car, when she spotted the girl a smile grew on her face, "hey" Nancy grinned, and Robin returned grin.

They drove for about thirty minutes chatting and every so often flirting with each other when they finally arrived at their destination, an empty field filled with colourful flowers. The field had a beautiful view and tho it was slightly cold, it was perfect.

Robin grabbed the plaid picnic blanket and dragged it over to a spot on the seemingly endless field. She plopped herself down and gestured over for Nancy to sit next to her, Nancy snatched the pre-packed picnic basket and sat down.

The cold air pricked Nancy's fair skin and she slightly shivered, Robin noticed this and took of her blazer placing it on her girlfriends shoulders. Nancy glanced over to Robin after feeling the weight of the jacket on her shoulders and leaned into her chest enjoying her company.

Robins eyes slightly widened looking down on the girl who was resting on her chest, the girl looked up at her, gently placed a kiss on her lips creating a prominent blush on the taller girl.

The two seemed to talk about everything and nothing as the sky continued to darken. They ate small sandwiches Nancy had packed and homemade lemonade that Karen had made earlier in the week.

"Your just... just so cute" Nancy remarked in an admiring way after Robin had said something particularly dumb for about the hundredth time. But it never got old, and Nancy always admired it. Robins cheeks turned a crimson red (not that it doesn't happen most of the time she's with Nance) and she found herself immediately stammering over the unexpected compliment "I- well I-" Robin managed to stumble out.  Nancy chuckled and smiled at her, the two were sitting on either ends of the blanket facing each other, Nancy still wearing robins jacket. "Your even more cute when your flustered" Nancy whispered slightly leaning in, only making Robin more flustered with each passing moment.

Nancy placed her hand around robins tie gently pulling it towards herself. Robin complied, leaning in Nancy's hand still on the tie hanging from her neck. Their lips met and quickly the gentle kiss turned into making out, moving from their upright position to lay down, Robin on top of Nancy. Nancy used the tie to pull Robin deeper into the kiss as she slightly smiled to herself. The two kissed passionately only breaking the contact to suck in quick breaths of air.

After a while the two parted slightly panting, Robin was looking down at the curly haired girl who was still below Robin pinned to the floor, both of their chests rising steadily. "Oh uh- sorry" Robin muttered after realising that Nancy was slightly trapped under her body and proceeded to move to get off her, instead laying next to the girl. Nancy let out another chuckle and turned to face Robin, bringing her hand up to cup her girlfriends cheeks, "you should wear ties more often" she whispered against Robin's ear and then placing a kiss on the girl's forehead.
