She had to write her wrongs.
She had a pit in her stomach and her vision was cloudy due to all the tears.
Nancy was a logical person even in times of desperation.
she divided her problems into 2 steps:
1. apologise to Robin, she couldn't live with Robin being mad at her and she knew she had messed up so, that was first step.
2. Deal with Johnathan, she still wasn't so sure what this entailed but she knew she had to do something and Robin seeing that picture was not an option.
After composing herself she decided to try Steve's house again, she had to apologise.
The phone rang a few times before a weary and raspy voice answered, "hello?" Robin. The voice was very tired and horse presumably from the crying, just the thought of that made Nancy want to come over and hug her all night long, but no. It was her that created this and that only made her heart ache more.
"Uh- hi Robin?" She spoke up which was followed by a string of silence as she waited for a response. "
Nance... I'm not in the mood." After Robin had finished the line went flat only the of the phone tone ringing in her ear, a single tear rolling down her face quickly followed by a stream of them.
Apologies over the phone where not enough, she needed a way for Robin to hear her out without putting to much pressure on the girl. Then it hit her. A letter.
She both mentally and physically was too tired to write, her mind was clouded with emotion and it was all too much for her, she needed to sleep, yes, she would do it in the morning.
Beams of light flooded through the flimsy curtains casting a golden glow on the once dim room.
Nancy had always been an early riser but the churning in her stomach all night had only made it easier. She was sat at her desk a pen rested in her hand occasionally drifting to her mouth to be chewed on.
After a long while and a lot of re-writing, she finally crafted a letter written out on a light pink piece of paper.
Nancy wheeler being the perfectionist she was, had discarded paper with her failed attempts where the writing was smudged, crossed out or simply not written well enough, scattered across her desk. After reading over it for about the hundredth time she placed the letter carefully inside a envelope writing out 'Robin' in her best cursive and sealed it with a red heart sticker.
Taking a deep breath she gathered her keys and made her way to Robin's house.
She knew the girl was not there currently so it saved her the trouble of sneaking onto the porch and simply slipped the letter under the door.
Robin was sat on the couch at Steve's house watching the breakfast club and picking at her eggs and toast that Steve had made for her. Despite what most would think he was a surprisingly good cook and often would cook for her when she felt down. Her appetite was almost nonexistent, her stomach still clouded from the most recent phone call she had received.
Although Steve had assured her that she wasn't a burden, she still felt guilty staying at his house all the time. She washed her plate and utensils and put them away before heading up stairs to collect her things.
Steve had left for work about half an hour ago so she didn't bother telling him she was leaving.
She locked the front door and started walking, her house wasn't far away by any means but even then she wasn't in the mood for a morning stroll.
Her fingers fumbled with the keys a few times before finally unlocking the door to her house. She was about to make her way up to her room when she noticed the corner of pink paper sticking out from under her foot.
Picking it up she saw that her name was written neatly on it and she immediately recognised the handwriting, of course, Nancy.
Although she didn't feel like it she knew she couldn't hide from the girl forever. She started to walk to her room her feet hesitating at every step, she flopped back onto her bed looking up into the ceiling. Taking a deep breath she pulled out the now-crumpled envelope from her pocket and started opening it being cautious to not damage the contents.
The letter read:
Dear Robin,
You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry.
I know you need space, and I'm willing to give you that, but I need you to know that I don't have ANY feelings for Jonathan, the only thing I want is you. I want to be there for you, I want to hold you and kiss you, everything about you makes me melt and I can't bare you being angry at me.
I can give you all the time you need so, if you could find a way to forgive me I'll be here, waiting for you.
-Nancy
A few lose tears rolled down Robin's cheeks but a small smile tugged on the corners of her lips.
Heartwarming.
The usual blush that she had missed, arrived back into her cheeks, I have to talk to Nancy.
Grabbing her keys she rushed down the stairs almost tripping over multiple times and then fumbling to get her worn out converse onto her feet not bothering to tie them up.
She tried to run to Nancy's house before remembering why she hated running and settled on power walking instead.
Once she reached the house she was already puffed out and red but at this point she didn't care. She knocked, carefully composing what she would say in her heady while she waited. The door opened to a tall blonde woman who, in many ways shared Nancy's features. Mrs wheeler.
This was Robin's first formal meeting with Mrs wheeler, as Robin often came round when she wasn't around- though she was sure Mrs Wheeler knew who she was because of  always being here to pick up  the kids with Steve.
"Hello Robin, what are you doing here?" Mrs Wheeler said taking the liberty of starting the conversation, "oh- um I'm here to see Nancy?" She replied with uncertainty. "Oh of course, she's up in her room."
Robin climbed the steps toward Nancy's room her heart beating out of her chest. She knocked carefully on the door waiting anxiously for a reply, "come in" a voice said quietly, defended by the door. She opened the door coming face to face with Nancy.
"Robin..." Nancy spoke a breathe exhaling from her chest , "hey Nance...". The few seconds they stood like that felt like hours, until Robin broke the distance between their lips.
Nancy moved backwards letting Robin into the room and Robin followed, stepping forward and closing the door behind her but never leaving the kiss.
Nancy kept moving back until she had no choice but to let herself fall onto her bed, Robin following quickly after.
The two had broke their kiss and were now on the bed Robin just on top of her looking down with a flushed face. Nancy looked up and grinned "so you forgive me I assume?"
"Yeah I forgive you, you idiot"
ANYWAY HERE THEY MADE UP YAY!
