"Helloooo" a voice spoke through the broken crackles of the telephone, "hello Robin" Nancy replied rolling her eyes in affection, a playful grin across her face. "Ok so I was thinking, tomorrow you could come over? my parents are not going to be here all weekend" Even through the old telephone she could hear the sly grin buried in the rasp in her voice. "Is that so?" Nancy said innocently, "I guess I could make it".

Nancy put the phone down her smile still lingering on the fact that she would see Robin once again.

Wait. What day is it again?

Her eyes darted over to the calendar on her wall, they brushed passed all the pictures of fluffy cats that they were normally more drawn to and settled on the number with a red circle drawn around it.

Fuck fuck fuck.

Springing from her spot at her desk she was out the door in a second, fumbling with the keys to start the car. Through her love struck haze she had completely forgotten about one thing. Johnathan.

She had gotten him plenty of dates but to no prevail, he had driven away every single one. It drove her insane. He loved the look of defeat and the glint of anger in her eye knowing she wouldn't do anything, she couldn't, not if she didn't want those pictures getting to her loved one.

Today was Friday. Early tomorrow morning Johnathan would be leaving and despite how much she wanted him gone she was bared with the fact that if she didn't get him a date that he didn't reject he might show Robin the pictures depending on how cruel he felt that day.

She pulled into the drive way where the Byers were staying, the lawn was scattered with suitcases with Joyce packing them into the back of a red ford escort presumably getting ready to leave the next morning.

She stepped out of her car and walked to the door being mindful not to step on the array of luggage blocking her path. "Nancy, hello!" A cheerful voice that could have only belonged to one person shouted out behind her, "hi Mrs Byers" she replied politely sending a smile over to the woman.

Now in the house, Nancy let out a shaky breath she closed her eyes to regain composure and trudged up the solemn stairs. The pit in her stomach only grew with each passing step and her palms began to feel more moist by the second. Before she could dwell on whatever could be coming she knocked on the door to Johnathan's room.

When he answered the grin she had been fatally imagining earlier was back and she felt her fists clench at the sight of it, "hi Johnathan" she muttered through gritted teeth, " hello nance" Nancy almost grimaced at the nickname. "So, I know you don't like any of the girls I set you up with-" she started, desperately wanting to get to the point so she wouldn't have to be here.
"Nancy, I'm not going to show her."
"W-what?"
"I've thought about it and I'm not going to show her."
"O-ok thanks?"

The conversation was an interesting one, but she came out pleasantly confused, Johnathan had finally gotten the hit on the head he had so desperately needed and came to his senses choosing to not tell Robin about the pictures.

The weight that had been barring her secret had lifted creating a smile that refused to leave.

She returned home using her free time as she normally did— to study, but her mind was too busy thinking about Robin to actually get any work done so eventually she just gave in and went to bed.

She really loved that girl.

Robin was up late. Everything had to be perfect, Nancy was coming over tomorrow morning and would be staying all weekend. She cleaned her room and had placed the movies she had borrowed earlier out on the coffee table, restocked the snacks and even bought Nancy a little present, A snow globe. It wasn't very big or expensive but Robin was assured Nancy would love it either way.
