Her next few days were filled with fatal attempts to get someone, anyone to go on a date with Johnathan but, much to her dismay she hadn't succeeded yet.

Because of her busy schedule plus trying to find Johnathan a date, Nancy had to constantly lie to Robin, making excuses and slowly but surely pulling away from Robin.

She knew she shouldn't. And she didn't want to, but what was she supposed to say?

Meanwhile Robin had grown anxious, Nancy had begun to pull away, and though Nancy was a good liar Robin knew her like the back of her hand at this point and something was up.

did she not like me anymore? Had I scared her off? Or was someone else occupying her time?

Slowly Robin began to see through her excuses of "my mum called" or "my brother needs me to pick him up" and her mind started to dwell on the untruthful reality.

She was still wary of Johnathan because of her many negative encounters with the boy, could it be? No, no. Nancy had assured Robin that she didn't feel anything towards him anymore and despite knowing something was up she still trusted Nancy.

Over the next few days Robin had hardly seen Nancy at all except from that one time when Robin went to drop off a video game for mike.

Now she was at family video her hands propping her chin up with a frown on her face, "I just don't get it! Why is she pulling away? Was it something I Said? Something I did?" She exclaimed to Steve already anticipating the speech he was going to say next, "I'm sure it's nothing Robin, If you really think its something why don't you talk to her about it?"

She rolled her eyes in response and threw her hands in the air with defeat simultaneously, "it's just all so hard Steve, everything is so hard in relationships, why does anybody ever want to be in one?" She paused giving Steve a chance to speak " well..." he sighed stopping what he was doing, "it's hard, but it's up to you to figure out weather the joys of loving her is worth withstanding the pain of loving her." There was a long thoughtful pause, "Wow, Steve I didn't know you were such a romantic, that's probably the most intellectual thing you've ever said"  She gasped sarcastically as he rolled his eyes in return. "Also who said anything about love?? I'm not in love! And of course I like her, a lot, but that doesn't mean love!" She continued in a defensive ramble, Steve put his hands up in defeat, "Ok! Ok, you should just, i don't know, you just always have a look on your face when you look at her, or talk about her for that matter." He walked off, probably returning to whatever work he was doing before his speech, and leaving Robin to obsess about her love life.

"In love pfft" she snickered feeling the need to convince herself and get that silly idea out of her head. She glanced over at Steve who was stacking shelves and not being able to contain it anymore, walked up to him leaning on the shelves so she was facing him, "you don't actually think I'm in love right?" She half whispered uncertainty lacing her voice.

"well I don't know Rob? I'm not you, am I?" He snapped back Clearly sick of all the obsessing, "I don't knowwwwwww! Everything would be so much easier if you were me." She said putting her hands up to her face, " she's just like the most amazing person I've ever met and I'm so grateful to have even gotten this far with her, I mean how did I manage that? And she's so pretty and not to mention WAY outta my league and fuck- I think you might be right."

At this point Steve wasn't really listening anymore but he noticed when Robin suddenly became unusually quite, "Robin?" With that Robin groaned and slid down the shelves sitting with her knees up to her chin on the floor, "oh no oh no, I'm falling in love, Steve. Falling in love with a girl who seems to be pushing away from me!" Steve could tell this was bothering her and regretted bringing it up in the first place,"wooah! Slow down! Nothing is set in stone yet, just talk to her."

"AGGGGHH!" Nancy let out a disgruntled groan before pushing the phone back to its hanger. Since the other day Nancy had been non-stop calling any of her friends to see if they wanted to go on a date with Johnathan, but to her dismay none were willing. Nancy had obviously told stories about her and Johnathan and he did not come out looking the greatest in most of them. While her internal monologue continued, the phone rang.

Hopeful, Nancy answered praying that one of her friends had changed their mind. "Hey Nance!" A Cherry but oddly raspy voice spoke, Robin.

Ok ok play it cool Nancy.

Despite how much a nancy loved talking to and about Robin she was dreading pretending to be fine in front of her. "Hey robs" she let out in a slightly more disappointed way than she intended. "Oh uh- I can go if you were doing something" Robin sighed not hiding sadness in her voice, "no! No, sorry- what's up?" "I was just wondering if you could come round? Of course if your busy we can do it another time" Robin rambled before Nancy cut her off,
"of course Robs I'll be there".
