Chapter 44: Looming Change

Standing on top of a rooftop in Central City, Speed Demon kneeled down as a newspaper falls out of his hand as he overlooks his throne, the city he had taken for himself

It had been a week since Irma left, since she and Mon-El went back to the future, it didn't affect Henry really but it did if that made sense, Irma had darkness and maybe that was why she and Henry had a connection because he saw her darkness even when she didn't

But now Henry was back to doing what he's done for years, watching over his kingdom as the citizens of Central City looked for a grasp of Hope, the hope that was taken from them long ago

But everytime they even had the firmest grasp on Hope, he took it from them and that made them want a hero, another hero to rise up but there was no one, no one could help them not even Xs and Impulse

Speed Demon stands up as he runs down the side of the building as his lightning crackles of him as he runs in a blink of an eye through the streets of Central City

He finally arrives in Argus inside of Lyla's office now in his regular clothes as he sees that Lyla wasn't in here

He gazes around the room as he walks over to the desk and sees a file sitting on it

He goes over to the chair behind the desk as he sits down and moves the chair closer as he grabs the file and lifts his feet up to the desk

Opening the file, Henry looks intrigued by what's inside as the door opens and Lyla comes walking inside as she gasps seeing Henry sitting at the desk

Henry doesn't even look up as he just chuckles and closes the file

Henry: I've been thinking about something.

Lyla: And what would that be?

She asks as she takes her jacket off and hangs it up as she closes the door and walks over and sits in front of the desk

Henry: I had this plan to take every city for myself, make the world my kingdom and not just one city.

Lyla goes eye widen hearing this as Henry looks up at her
