Chapter 50: Slowing Down.... For Now

It was a tale as good as old, the story of a man so dark, so twisted, he rose up and became a king, killing whoever stood in his path, it didn't matter who it was, his father, his mother, he was a king

Henry West Allen, a kid who if you looked closely you could see that he was a good kid when he was younger but along the way, things changed, slowly his mind began to corrupt, turning into the villain you only see in your nightmares

He had took Central City by the palm of his hand, with brute force he was on a missing to prove that without a doubt he was the greatest speedster to ever live and he showed that

Challenge after challenge came for him, trying to bring him down but no matter what he brought those challenges down

He was even caught off guard by his own grandfather; Eobard Thawne, using Erick Thawne he had taken him down, he did what no one besides the flash could do, not even Erick Thawne, he took down the reverse flash, once again proving he was the best

And his latest challenge, well, that was a challenge indeed, godspeed for a second managed to take down the devil, standing over top of him like he was in control, but Speed Demon rose above it and defeated and killed the speed god

He truly was the king of Central City and nothing could stop him now

A loud thud is heard inside the pipeline at Star Labs as the cell door opens up wide, it was dark, a figure could be seen standing outside the cell as we see Henry West Allen standing inside with his hands on the glass as he was looking down at the ground

He chuckled with a sinister grin as he continued to stare at the ground not even bothering to look up at whoever was standing outside the cell

But how is Henry standing there? How is Speed Demon inside the cell?

Well in order to see why and how, first we must take you back, all the way back to the beginning

<Nine Years Ago>

A yellow blurr sped throughout the city, cheering was coming from a crowd of people as the flash ran up the side of a building and went inside a burning building

The people were clapping, their hero the flash once again risking his life to save someone else not even asking for a thank you in return

The flash came out of the building multiple times saving those that were trapped inside, the fire went lower as it faded and the flash came back out as he sped past everyone once again

At Star Labs, Max Mercury was putting together his suit as a blurr passes him and wind blows through his face

He laughs as he turns and sees Barry standing there in normal clothes

Max: Man! That was awesome. You did it, Barry. Again.

Barry chuckles as he rubs the back of his neck

Barry: It's all in a days work.

Max: Yeah, well it was awesome.

Barry: Thanks Max.

Max: Man you've been doing this for so long, don't you just wanna take a step back and let Nora and Bart handle things?

Barry looks at the mannequins with Nora and Bart's suits as he smiles at them, he thought about Max's words

He had been doing this for so long, but he never even thought about retiring as the flash, I guess he just couldn't, he loved being a hero
