Chapter 50: Ending The Game
Caroline then slowly raised her arm at Kendall.
“Kendall…” Caroline said, “Please… Finish her off…”
“CAROLINE!” Kendall shouted with tears in their eyes. “PLEASE! DON’T DIE ON ME!”
“She will.” Mira said as she aimed her gun at Caroline.
“NO!” Kendall shouted as they aimed their gun at Mira. “STAND BACK! I WARNED YOU!”
Mira gave Kendall a dead look. Kendall then grabbed the axe out of Caroline and escaped as Mira then shot Caroline three times.
“Simple.” She said as she saw Kendall trying to make a run for it, but saw more mantises scaring them. “Looks like they’ve met their match…”
Kendall then used their axe and swinged it at the mantises to their deaths.
“I GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!” They shouted as they tried to run, but one of their legs was cut by Mira’s Trump Card. “GAAAH!”
Kendall was on the ground as Mira had her trump card return to her.
“Gotcha.” Mira said as she walked towards Kendall.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Kendall shouted, scared as they aimed their gun at Mira. “GET AWAY FROM ME!”
Mira then aimed her gun at Kendall. More bugs under Mira’s control started to appear.
“Game over, Ant.” Mira said as she slowly pressed the trigger.
“AHHHHHHH!!!” Kendall shouted in fear as they closed their eyes.
Then, Mira pressed the trigger, but nothing happened.
“Huh?” Mira wondered as she looked at her revolver. “What?! A cooldown?!”
Kendall was shocked.
“OH COME ON!” Mira shouted, “I WAS HOPING FOR MORE BULLETS TO APPEAR, BUT I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ALL OF THEM TO BE RESTORED AT ONCE?!”
Kendall then took a deep breath. Shaking, they pulled the trigger and shot Mira at the face. Mira was shot and slowly started to fall
“This… game is… bullshit…” She said as she then fell to the ground, lifeless.
“Holy shit…” Kendall said as they dropped the gun and started to weep. “Holy shit…”
The announcer then went off.
“ANT IS THE LAST INSECT STANDING!” The announcer shouted, “THEREFORE, ANT HAS WON CODE: INSECT!”
While Kendall continued crying their eyes out, the ghosts of Caroline, Roger, Belinda, Vic, Franklin, Sofia, Penelope, Ollie, Nat, Richard, Susie, Ivy, Malcolm, Lyric, Fritz and Chloe appeared around him, The ghosts of Yamato and Juan were shocked to see Mira, defeated.
“Kendall!” A Feminine voice holler out while everything starts to fade away.
“Kendall!”
“Hey! Kendall! Wake up!”
Kendall then opened their eyes and gasped. They saw Piper.
“Oh thank God, you’re alive!” Piper said as she hugged them.
“Oh God…” Kendall said as they lay their head down on a pillow and noticed the pillow. “Huh? Where am I?”
“You’re at a hospital!” Piper replied, “I had to call for help and they found you in that arcade game that made you go into a coma! Thankfully, you’re ok! Same for your friends! They’re in the other beds resting!”
“Oh my God… I thought it was a very bad dream I have… Is it real?”
“I don’t know. A detective said it was.”
Kendall sighed.
“And I actually won that game…” They said, “I was the… last insect standing.”
