Chapter 1: Kendall And Their Friends
"NO! DON'T DIE ON ME!"
"STOP! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
"STAND BACK! I WARNED YOU!"
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET AWAY FROM ME!"
"AHHHHHHH!!!"
"Kendall? Kendall?! KENDALL!"
-Thursday… March 24th, 2022…
"GAH!" Kendall shouted as they woke up in an empty classroom and then saw a girl next to them. "Oh, Caroline…"
"You were dozing off at the last minutes of class, and the last minutes of today's time here at high school…" Caroline said as she looked at Kendall. "You look like you saw a ghost."
Kendall sighed.
"Sorry…" They said, "I had a bad dream…"
Kendall's POV: My name is Kendall, Kendall Wilson… I'm 17-years old. I go to Dozen Dove High. I was separated from my abusive mother and father ever since I was 10. My aunt took very good care of me and made sure that I was nowhere near my mom or dad, or both. Growing up, I had a cousin. She and I are cool, but don't really hang out a lot… Recently, today was Thursday, March 24th, 2022… I awoke from a bad dream… I don't know what it was, but it doesn't matter… It was the end of the school day.
Kendall then got up from their seat and sighed again.
"Ok, where are we going?" They said to Caroline. "You told me this morning that we were going somewhere after we ate dinner…"
"Ok, there's this arcade that we should check out that opened a few months ago" Caroline replied. "Don't worry, Roger and Belinda will pay for the four of us."
Kendall's POV: This girl is my best friend, Caroline Adams. We first met when a popular girl picked on me for my appearance. She came in and got me away from it. Without her, I think there would have been a worse ending… Caroline is cool, she's seemed to be the type of person to be on her own path, making herself comfortable with the right choices she makes… She and I have been best friends for 2 and a half years… Still best friends to this day."
"What's the arcade named?" Kendall asked.
"The Foolstown Arcade." Caroline replied. "Very popular in our area."
"Interesting…"
"Oh, and have you heard? There's this weird new game that Roger and I found out."
"Uhh…"
"We'll talk about it when we hit the arcade."
"Ok."
When Kendall and Caroline exited the classroom they were both in, Roger and Belinda were outside, arguing.
"I've told you!" Roger said. "I NEVER have the money for it!"
"I thought you did!" Belinda said. "We thought you had the money for it!"
"Did you really tell Kendall and Caroline about it?"
"Yeah? Why?"
"Oh my God… I never even told you to tell them!"
"Hey, what's going on?" Caroline asked.
"I don't have the money for going to The Foolstown Arcade today. Belinda lied."
"Pfft, you could have been more specific or updated me with the money." Belinda said.
"Do I have to repeat?! I NEVER had the money!"
Kendall's POV: Roger Lowery and Belinda Strong. Roger is smart, but is very stubborn with his surroundings, especially Belinda… Belinda acts like Caroline, but somewhat of a troublemaker. I've seen Belinda mostly hang with boys, since she dressed like one. He and Roger barely get along… Maybe since Belinda left her old home where she lost all trust with her family… I haven't gotten the full story… It's hard to get the full story from a tough one like Belinda…
"Sorry if Belinda was in your way." Roger said to Kendall and Caroline. "He's… There."
"And good-looking." Belinda said.
"Anyway, talk to you both tomorrow." Roger said as he ignored Belinda and walked away.
Kendall and Caroline both looked at Belinda.
"Yeah?" Belinda asked. "You want a noogie, you two?"
"No." Kendall replied. "We're good."
"Ok, good. Carry on."
Kendall and Caroline passed by Belinda.
"He's something." Caroline said. "But at least we don't hang out with her a lot."
"Yeah…" Kendall said.
Leaving the school, Kendall and Caroline see Roger again.
"Hey." Roger said. "Want to know something?"
"Yeah?" Caroline said.
"What is it?" Kendall wonders.
"I'm partnered with Belinda for the science project we're all doing." Roger said. "And she BARELY does shit! Like help out!"
"Hey, calm down." Caroline said.
"Wish I was partnered with one of you two instead. You seemed hard-working."
"We already finished our project together." Kendall said. "I ended up sleeping on her couch in her house because we stayed up all night for it."
"And then you were sleeping in class most of the time." Caroline said as she giggled a bit. "Oh, you're a heavy sleeper."
Kendall blushed.
"I guess I was…" They said, "All for nothing when the science teacher told us that we're continuing to work on it during class…"
Caroline then got a text from on her phone.
"Oh, my Mom wants me to come home quickly." Caroline said as she started to run. "See you two later!"
Caroline then bolted away.
"So, Kendall…" Roger asked.
"Hmm?" Kendall said.
"Do you like Caroline?"
"As a friend?"
"Well, more than a friend, do you like her?"
Kendall blushed.
"Uhh… I guess?" They replied, "But I haven't told her my feelings yet!"
"Looks like you do." Roger said as he sighed and chuckled. "Alright, let's head home."
Kendall and Roger both walked home.
