Chapter 19: Insects In Action, Part 4

Malcolm and Lyric meanwhile were hiding in a supply closet together.

"It's so small here…" Lyric said.

Malcolm looked around.

"There's gotta be something in here that can give us a boost or something." He wonders.

"What kind?" Lyric wonders.

Malcolm then saw a bottle of a liquid with the label, "Speed Juice"

"Perhaps this can give us faster travel." They said as they offered it to Lyric. "My lady?"

Lyric blushed.

"Ha ha… Oh, Malcolm…" Lyric replied. "That's so sweet of you…"

Lyric then accepted the bottle.

"There should be another one here…" Lyric said.

"Nope, that's the only potion." Malcolm said.

"I'll put it in my inventory in case we need it for later."

Lyric then opens up her inventory and puts the Speed Juice away.

"Are the hallways clear?" Lyric asked.

Malcolm then opened the door and looked both ways.

"Yup." Malcolm replied. "Let's head somewhere to do our tasks."

"Got it." Lyric said.

Fritz meanwhile was walking to the computer room.

"I've heard that computer viruses are the leading cause in home computers through human mistakes." He said to himself while opening the door to the computer room. "People nowadays can't trust no one through scams and hacks."

Fritz then checked one of the computers for a task.

"Let's see…" He said as he can see that he can transfer emails. "Oh great. This is gonna hurt…"

The ghosts of Ivy and Richard meanwhile appeared in the room.

"There he is…" Richard said. "That piece of shit will get what's coming from us…"

"Mhmm… He sure will…" Ivy said.

"So, what do we do, Ivy?"

"Simple."

Ivy then gets out a ghoulish device of some support.

"We sabotage Fritz's tasks!" She replied as she giggled a bit. "He's doing his tasks on the web, so it's best for us to give him some shits and giggles first."

"Sounds like a plan!" Richard said. "Ladies first!"

"D'aww! You're a great best friend!"

Ivy then pushed buttons on the ghoulish device as the computer Fritz was using started to glitch.

"Oh what the hell?!" Fritz shouted in surprise. "When did this happen?!"

Fritz then banged the computer with his left hand. Nothing has happened.

"Oh well." He said as he got up. "I'll just come back. I can't use any other computers for some damn reason."

Fritz then walked out of the computer room.

"He's leaving!" Ivy said as she gave the ghoulish device to Richard. "It's your turn!"

"On it!" Richard said.

Richard then pressed a button that glitches Fritz's movements.

"Hey!" Fritz shouted. "What the fuck is going on?!"

Richard and Ivy both laughed.

"What is happening to me?!" Fritz shouted.

Juan then saw Fritz glitching and sighed.

"I see…" He said as he got out his Dragonfly Remote and turned Fritz back to normal with a simple press of a button. "There."

Fritz then falls. Ivy and Richard then floated away.

"Are you ok?" Juan asked.

"Yeah…" Fritz replied as he got up. "I think I broke my ass…"

"Heh heh… I know how this happened."

"Huh?"

"Ghosts."

"Ghosts? They ain't real."

"They are in this game, but we can't see them… When a player dies, they turn into a ghost, progressing into the game further by either sabotaging or helping other players. And it looks like you were sabotaged from the looks of it."

Fritz was shocked.

"Well shit…" He said, "Better be careful then."

"Heh heh…" Juan said. "Si, but for now, let me whisper something to you."

Juan whispered words into Fritz's ears. Fritz nodded.

"On it." He said as he walked away.

Juan chuckled evilly.

"Good…" He said, "I'm using him to kill Centipede… Then the other insects will decide who did it to one another. That way, the game will totally fall apart and me, Yamato and Mira will win!"
