Chapter 6: Starting The Game
In the real world, Piper was in her room, watching wrestling on TV.
"OHHHH!" She shouted, "Jesus! He's showing no mercy!"
Piper then looked at her phone.
"Wonder what's taking Kendall long… Better go call them." She said as she opened her phone to call Kendall. "They better pick up…"
About 30 seconds later…
"Hi, sorry, but I'm not available at this current moment." Kendall's message said. "Please leave a message after the beep."
Piper then hung up.
"Weird…" She said, "Usually Kendall would call me then and there, but… What's keeping him so long at that new arcade?"
In CODE: Insect, Kendall was teleporting to a different area.
"WOAAAAH!" They shouted as they saw a lot of pixels. "WHERE AM I GOING?!?!"
Kendall then shut their eyes to avoid more damage to them. Then, the teleportation sounds ended as Kendall then opened their eyes to see that they were in a different room.
"Where am I now?" They wonder, "What room is this?"
Kendall then saw Nat with them.
"Huh?" Kendall said as they walked to Nat. "Fly?"
"Eh?" Nat said as they turned to Kendall. "Oh, you must be Kendall? Or Ant?"
"Yeah… Are you Fly?"
"Yes… My real name is Nat by the way…"
"That figures…"
"I'm assuming that we're supposed to be doing tasks here…"
"Tasks?"
"I guess so… I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are in at this moment…"
"What room are we even in?"
Nat then saw a door with the sign, "Hallway outside, Parts & Services inside."
"I believe we're in Parts & Services." Nat replied.
"I see…" Kendall said as they and Nat then both saw something glowing under the color red near the Lost & Found box. "Something is glowing."
Nat walked over to the glowing thing.
"It's a task I have to do." They said, "There should be another one in here for you."
Kendall then saw another task glowing near a closet. They then walk over to it.
"I suppose this is it." They said, "How do I start on it?"
"I don't know how to start mine either." Nat said. "Perhaps we'll figure it all along the way."
Then, both heard knocking.
"Huh?" Nat said. "Who's there?"
The door opened, revealing Franklin.
"Hey, Mantis." Nat said.
"Fancy meeting you again, Franklin." Kendall said.
"Hey…" Franklin said. "You two are struggling?"
"Yeah… We can't figure out how to do these tasks."
"Remember how you want to open up another insect's information with a whirl of your hand?"
"Yeah?"
"Do that with the task in front of you."
"Let me try that."
Kendall then waved their hands to open the task's codes.
"Or two hands." Franklin said as he chuckled a bit. "Somehow a step further than me."
"Heh heh… Thanks. Got this working now…" Kendall said as they looked at the codes. "What the heck are these codes? I'm not good at coding!"
"I can help you, if you want." Nat said. "I take coding classes and I'm good at it."
"Please!"
"Let me finish my task first…"
"I'll leave you two alone now." Franklin said as he then closed the door and left.
Something was then crawling through the vents to see Kendall and Nat. It looked down and screeched. It continued to crawl to then assassinate its targets.
