Part 27

The same night;

Lilah and I walked through the campus, it was quiet once again, just us. We were still holding hands, sipping our drinks with the other hand, I was tipsy already and I knew she was too, we we're kind of stumbling already lol.

"We need music!" Lilah shouted. "Here, hold this." She handed me her drink and pulled out her phone. She put on the song get free by lana del rey. She started twirling around once the beginning started, I set the drinks down on the grass and took her hand. We started spinning and running around the hill in the quad together, laughing our asses off. She let go of my hand and ran down the hill with her arms spread. I stood at the top and watched her, it was like in this moment we were infinite. She felt so free, I could feel her energy. I felt a sprinkle of water hit my face, I looked around and right after, all of the sprinklers shot on, both started laughing. I ran down to where she was and jumped up into her, she caught me and spun me around. I spread out my arms like she did as she spun me around, we were both getting totally soaked but I never wanted to have this moment. For once I didn't think about anything else besides this exact moment and the person I was with. She set me down, our arms still wrapped around each other. The beginning of blue velvet by lana started playing as we looked into each others eyes, I could feel the chemistry between us, it was so strong. I cupped her face and kissed her so passionately, she gripped my waist. It was like the world was spinning around us and we froze in time, like those scenes in the movies, it felt right. The sprinklers hitting us on every angle, the coldness hitting us from our clothes, her lips were warm. We kissed for almost the entire song, I didn't want to pull away. She ended up pulling away and brought me in for a hug towards the end of the song. She held me tightly, I closed my eyes and nestled my head into her chest.

A few moments later, we grabbed our drinks from the grass and started heading back to the party. This time I was the one to grab her hand, she looked over at me and smiled.
"So what was it that you were trying to tell me at the party?" I asked, she laughed to herself.
"I think you got the point." I couldn't stop smiling, it's starting to hurt and I knew I was blushing hard as fuck.
"I've never experienced a moment like that before. It was perfect, you literally took soul from me and saved it in that time." I could see her smile again, she squeezed my hand.
"I felt exactly how you felt in that moment, we we're definitely connected." I squeezed her hand back. We reached the house for the party and walked back inside, Syd was still playing beerpong, we went over to her.
"Hey- jesus is it pouring out there or something?" Syd asked, Lilah and I looked at each other and laughed.
"Something like that." Lilah said as she nudged me, I smirked.
"Ah okay, I see you two." Sydney winked. "You guys ready to get out of here or what? A party without drinking is tooo boring." I stuck my tounge out at Syd and handed her the rest of my drink.
"Yeah let's get out of here." I said and we started walking towards the door, we linked arms again. As we were making our way through the campus we passed by Lilah's building.
"Hey do you guys actually want to come to my dorm? You guys could sleep over." Lilah suggested. I turned and looked at Sydney, she shrugged her shoulders, smiled and nodded. "Alright cool."

We got to Lilah's dorm and she pushed the beds away for Sydney to sleep on one. Sydney downed the rest of my drink, fell onto the bed, sighed and passed out, Lilah and I looked at each other and smiled.

"Here." She handed me some clothes to change into, the pajama pants she gave me had hedwig from harry potter on them with a black graphic tee.
"These are too cute." I giggled, she climbed into bed and opened the blanket for me to come lay next to her. She handed me one of her airpods, she put the other in her ear. She turned off the led's so only the light from the moon came through her window. She put on jesus christ 2005 god bless america by the 1975, she started humming to the melody. We held our hands up as the song played and messed with each other's fingers, laughing to ourselves. She turned towards me just as the part where it said 'i'm in love with the girl next door, her name's claire', I turned to face her and she smiled at me. I got up across her and kissed her once more before taking her hand and laying back down. She closed her eyes and I watched her fall asleep as I played with the ends of her hair. All of tonight has been surreal, it all happened so quick but I'm glad it did. I don't feel guilty one bit with my situation with Joe, he had cheated on me and didn't feel guilty enough to even let me know. Whether or not he has feelings for that girl, I know one thing for sure, I do have feelings for Lilah. I felt something towards her from the moment we first spoke, she's one of my bestfriends & I don't even have to think twice about the fact if she cares for me, I know she does. Maybe I should forget about Joe, take some time for me and figure out what I truly want. Figure out if he was really for me or if he could have been a bystander while I found the real person for me. My thoughts are sending me to sleep, I closed my eyes and the music faded away.

The next morning, back in london; joe's p.o.v

I woke up on the couch this morning, I literally got home from a party and passed the fuck out. After everything, I needed to drink. I fucked up the one thing that truly meant the most to me. It was all self-inflicted, there's no one to blame but myself. I ran my fingers through my hair and rubbed my eyes, I let out the biggest sigh.

"You okay?" Caspar asked as he walked into the living room. "I didn't hear you come in last night, let alone know you came home from visiting."
"No, fuck. I'm not okay." I started crying, Caspar's never seen me cry, it's so rare that I do so I know he knows somethings up. He came and sat next to me.
"Cate?"
"Yeah."
"Listen mate, I knew what was going on, I'm not stupid. Now I'm not mad at you because I told her from the beginning to be smart about the relationship she has with you. I'm not taking sides this time, I'll let you two hash it out."
"She hasn't said anything to you?"
"Nah mate, last I checked in with her she was at a party with her friends." A party? She said she wasn't ready for that yet, what if I made her do something she'd regret? I know she's hurt right now.
"Casp, I fucked up. I truly fucked up this time."
"Nah," He shushed me and patted me on the back. "Don't say that mate, just give her some space, some time, I know she'll come around. And even if she doesn't, she'll still have to face you when she comes back at the end of the year." I nodded my head, I sighed again.
"Ugh, but that's 6 months from now mate, anything can happen during that amount of time."
"Could it be any worse than what you did?" I looked at him and tears were still falling from my face, I shook my head and covered my face with my hands. He's right. All I can give Cate is time, I shouldn't push her to talk to me when I know that's the last thing on her mind. This is going to be so fucking hard, and I know this is just the beginning of a long road ahead. Fuck.

That same morning, cate's p.o.v;

Sydney and I were on our way back to our dorm, it's about 9:30ish, it's sunday so still no class today for me, unfortunately Lilah had some meetings on campus to attend for different clubs so I probably won't be seeing much of her today.

"Anything happen last night? You haven't stopped smiling since we left that building." Sydney asked smirking, I looked at her and rolled my eyes.
"No we didn't hookup if that's what you mean, but we did share a kiss or two.." Sydney squealed with excitement.
"Ahh yes! That's so adorable, I could literally feel your guys' sexual tension in the bloody air, I knew something of the sort would happen." I laughed lightly.
"So what's that mean for you guys? Are you a thing now?"
"I would definitely not go that far, I just had that situation with Joe and we haven't even formally broke up yet, Lilah and I just shared a couple kisses and had a really nice night together, I wouldn't say we were dating now, the only thing different from our normal hangouts were the kisses. We still have to talk about what they even mean. She did admit she has feelings for me though." Sydney nudged me and winked.
"Well there you go. What about you?"
"Yes, I know haha, you asked me at the party and the kiss pretty much summed it up that yes I do have feelings for her. But the acting on it thing is something we have to really work out and I'm in no rush to jump into another relationship." I told her.
"Well either way I am really happy for you Cate, you deserve to happy no matter which person you're with. Just enjoy this one. From what I've seen Lilah is such a kind heart, she would take care of you." I looked up at her and smiled.
"I know."
