*I did a double update! So, if you haven't read Chapter 18, go do so now!!*
Asher
"Is that my shirt?" I ask, sliding into Amara's car.
"No..." She says, a sheepish smile forming on her lips.
"When did you take it?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." She says, looking towards the road.
"I think it's cute." I say and she looks over at me.
"I stole this one yesterday." She says, biting back a smile.
"How much of my clothing have you taken?"
"Just a couple t-shirts, and some button ups. One or two sweatshirts..." She says and I look over at her. "Are you mad? I should've asked."
"What? God no. Take whatever you want. You look adorable in my clothes."
"Good because, I live for oversized clothes. Especially flannels and button ups."
"So I've noticed."
"What don't you notice?" She quips, pulling into the bookstore parking lot.
"What can I say? I'm just an amazing boyfriend." I say as I open my door. "Don't you dare open that door." I say and she pulls her hand away from the door handle.
I walk over to her side, opening the door for her. She smiles, stepping out of the car before I close the door and she locks it.
"How come you picked this store instead of the on-campus one?"
"Better book selection. Plus, Leo is cute."
My eyebrows shoot up, "Who what now?"
She giggles, walking through the door I was holding open.
"Amara!" I whisper yell, earning another giggle.
"Relax. That's Leo." She says, pointing to a white, fluffy cat.
"I hate you." I say, turning on my heel and walking towards another direction.
I hear a piano playing upstairs when Amara's hand slips into mine, "No you don't."
"Couldn't if I tried." I say, looking down at her, "What's up there?" I ask, pointing towards the spiral staircase.
"It's a lounge area. We can go up there if you want."
I shrug, "Sure."
"I've never seen or heard anyone actually playing the piano that's up here though." Just as she says that the piano stops.
When we get to the top of the steps I almost run into someone. "Shit, sorry." A familiar voice says.
I look up to see Theodore standing there, "Oh, hey." I say, "How are you?" I ask, scratching the back of my neck.
This is kinda awkward.
"I've been better." He says, shrugging his shoulders.
He had bags under his eyes, his sandy blonde hair was a bit messy, and he just seemed... Different.
"Yeah..." I say.
He looks over at Amara, "Amara, right?" He asks and she nods. "Theo."
"I remember." She says softly and he nods.
For as long as I can remember he went by his last name: Nolan. But after him and Aspen started dating he went by Theodore because that's what Aspen called him to get on his nerves.
