Well, this isn't exactly Venti's POV of side story 4, but it was you guy who asked for it.
Why would you want this anyway?
Venti's POV
"Venti. Venti, are you listening?"
"I always listen to you, Xiao Xiao."
"Stop. That nickname- Just not in public." He groaned.
"There is no one around though." I pointed out.
We were up on Starsnatch cliff again.
I told him I could just come on my own, but he insisted on coming along.
Either he or Istaroth has been constantly sticking to me ever since I lost my body. I suspect that this will continue till the day I get it back.
"I'm not that weak you know."
"I know. I'm just not at ease not knowing whether you're okay."
Oh.
A critical hit.
How could I tell him to go back when he's like this?
"Do as you wish." That was all I could say in the end.
I saw a triumphant grin surface on his face at my answer. He won this round and he knows it. He's not even trying to hide it.
Just you want! One day I'll-
THUD.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, pain shot through my chest.
That's impossible. This isn't even my body.
"Venti?"
At that moment, I had my back turned to him, so Xiao couldn't see what I could as I looked down.
Well, this is problematic.
Depending on how realistic this body is, right about now I should-
"Cough!"
Yeah, that.
Slowly, blood dripped through my fingers, and at this point, there was no way Xiao wouldn't have noticed.
"Venti!"
I staggered and he caught me just before I hit the ground.
"Venti what- Arrow?"
He was as shocked as I was.
No matter what, my senses shouldn't have been so bad that I didn't notice an arrow aimed at me.
"Xiao, I'm ok- Cough!"
Oh, damn it. What a timing.
"No, you're not okay! I'll bring you to Morax, or would Albedo be better in this situation?"
I needed to calm him down somehow. He was too anxious.
I too was surprised, but I wasn't worried.
"Xiao I can always just separate from-"
Wait. What?!
I can't-
No way!
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't separate my soul from this body.
It was working yesterday!
"Xiao, I need you to go and get Istaroth and Albedo for me, okay."
"I'll just bring you along-"
"I shouldn't be moving too much right now. Just go. I'll wait here for you." I spoke in the most reassuring tone I could muster.
