Xiao's POV
"So, lady Sangonomiya, may I ask for what reason you were treating Xiao so respectfully. I have seen quite a few people interact with him today, and no one has been this respectfully before." the commissioner asked.
"No one? Before I answer your question, lord Kamisato, just who you have seen this past day
"Well, the first one was a bard named Venti, the second one was a dragon called Dvalin, next was lady Yae, and finally there is Kazuha and captain Beidou."
"Some of them I understand, but the rest... The reason I personally respect ma- Xiao, is because of what the yakshas had done for my ancestors."
"Your ancestors?" Everyone, even Yoimiya who knew some of it, looked up confused.
"Before I actually tell you this, I have to ask... Xiao, may I tell them what happened here after the archon war?" She asked me.
At this point...
"To the extent, you find it appropriate." I agreed.
"Then, I'll tell you of a matter long forgotten by the people of Inazuma.
After the archon war, the wrath of the fallen gods gathered, strengthening monsters and creatures all around Teyvat. Of the seven nations, only Liyue had a method to deal with this gathering wrath."
"The yakshas," Beidou muttered
"Yes. Since captain Beidou is from Liyue, you probably know the story as well, the only thing not included in that story, was the fact that the yakshas weren't only active in Liyue."
"You don't mean..." The commissioner was starting to realize where this was going.
"The yakshas were also engaged in other nations, though, this happened if the situation was going out of control. Among many such cases, there was one in Inazuma as well. Though there was only one such case, the wrath of this particular god, nearly destroyed Watatsumi island."
"What?! How have I not heard of this?" The commissioner nearly jumped up in shock.
"You have not heard of this, lord Kamisato, because the Sangonomiya clan has been trying to hide it for generations."
"Trying to hide it?"
"May I ask, Xiao, do you perhaps know the wrath of which fallen god caused the chaos in Inazuma back then?"
"It wasn't me who came to Inazuma back then. Only the yaksha responsible would get the details of the mission to prevent leaks."
I have absolutely no idea which gods fell in Inazuma, let alone which one was angry enough to cause trouble.
"The god whose lingering wrath nearly destroyed Watatsumi was none other than Orobashi."
The moment she said that name, I saw everyone in the room freeze.
Just who was this Orobashi?
Luckily, I didn't need to ask.
"Orobashi was the god who was worshipped in Watatsumi, as he was the one who had created this island and gave a home to the ancestors of my clan. We had lived in peace and the electro archon closed her eyes to the existence of another god in her territory. That was until Orobash started attacking the rest of Inazuma out of nowhere.
Neither my ancestors nor anyone else knew why he did that, we were just as surprised as everyone else in Inazuma. We accepted when the electro archon slew him, knowing that there was no other way. What we didn't expect was for Orobashi's wrath to be directed at watatsumi instead of the Raiden Ogosho."
