A/N: I was going to do just one chapter a day, but then I thought it'd be funny if I posted them in the same batches as the show did lol
Steve got back in the car after managing to get a lady passing by to agree to wait and help jumpstart his car. "I think our good Samaritan might've placed me, she's turning sour. I may have stood up her sister on multiple occasions. Did you get a hold of Nance?"
But when he looked over at Oscar, he saw the teen staring down at the walking in his hands with a paralyzed expression, face pale and pupils shrunk. He was breathing heavy, like he was trying not to freak out.
"Whoa...dude, what happened?" Steven turned to face him better with concern.
"...The Demogorgeon...g-got to my house..." Oscar managed to get out, voice choking up. He gripped the walkie tighter, hands shaking. "My dad's in an induced coma...and my mom's in surgery...and Holly's missing." His voice cracked at the end.
Steve stared at him silently, before letting out a shaky breath. "Jesus Christ, man..." He mumbled. "When we get this piece of junk moving...I'll drive you to the hospital."
"No." Oscar whispered. "No we- we need to stick to the plan, we lost Hopper's signal, we need to-"
"Whoa, whoa, slow your roll, kiddo." Steve cut him off firmly. "Leave that to the adults. The hospital's on the way. I'll drop you off. If not for yourself, then for Mike, okay?"
Oscar swallowed hard, tears glossing his eyes. He looked away, and could only choke out a soft thank you.
The car finally started again and they were about to get moving, only to see a familiar face walking up to them with a bike in tow.
"You've got to be shitting me." Steve muttered.
Dustin stood there, looking beaten to a pulp. He waved weakly.
Oscar stared, utterly speechless.

Just as Mike was grabbing coffee from the machine in the hospital, he turned his head and saw Oscar stood there. The two locked eyes, and Mike all but threw the coffee in the trash before running up to him and throwing his arms around his neck in a tight hug.
Oscar hugged him back tightly, tears burning his eyes. "Where are they?" He asked shakily.
"We- We don't know anything yet." Mike whispered painfully. "I mean...dad's in a medically induced coma but...mom's still..." He bit his lip. "You um, you can see dad, if you want."
Oscar bit his lip hard, and looked down. "...I don't."
Mika nodded softly. "I...didn't think so." He mumbled. "Come on, Nancy's over here."
He pulled Oscar along to the seating area, and Nancy's eyes filled with tears when she saw Oscar. She quickly stood up and hugged him. Oscar choked out a sob as he buried his face in her chest, hugging her back, not caring about the blood on her clothes.
"It's okay...it's gonna be okay..." Nancy whispered, holding him close, even as she sniffled.
"It's not." He choked out. "Holly's missing. Missing! How can anything be okay when Vecna has our little sister!? We don't know where she is or if she's still alive or-"
As Oscar ranted, he pulled out of Nancy's hold and turned to look at Mike, who look lost in thought. He scowled and smacked Mike's arm. "What is wrong with you!? How are you not freaking out!?"
"I just- I was thinking about something Lucas said ealier." Mike confessed, and Oscar knew that look on his face, that was his 'I'm making a ridiculous but genius plan' look. "About how he doesn't believe in coincidences anymore and..did Holly ever tell you guys about Mr. Whatsit?"
Oscar's eyebrows furrowed. "You mean her imaginary friend from that book?"
Mike nodded. "It's Mrs. Whatsit in the book, so this is her own creation, at least that's what I thought. When I went to pick her up from school today she said that Mr. Whatsit told her there was monsters in Hawkins, and he warned her that these monsters are coming for her. And on the same day she's actually taken by a monster?"
"And your theory is what, exactly?" Nancy asked tiredly.
"What if Mr. Whatsit wasn't a figment of Holly's imagination? What if he's real?"
Oscar and Nancy looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "...Real?"
Mike got up to start pacing. "Yeah. What if he's real. What if we've seen him and we just didn't know? Look, my theory has holes, but if it he is real, then he would know things."
"Okay then...let's say it's true, how do we find him?" Oscar asked.
Mike grinned. "I was hoping one of you would tell me."
Nancy started thinking hard about it, and then got an idea. "Okay, I'm gonna need you to talk to the receptionist, Oscar."
"What? Why me?" Oscar stared.
"Because she hates me, and you're cute, and we're gonna need help from the one person who might know more about Mr. Whatsit...mom."
~
"Hi, sorry to bother you, um..." Oscar started awkwardly. The receptionist raised an eyebrow. "I just... I just got here and- and I'm worried about my parents? Um, I'm Oscar Wheeler, son of Karen Wheeler?"
She sighed. "Like I told your sister-"
"I know!" He nodded rapidly. "But um, I'd feel much better if I could talk to the doctor maybe? I just..." He let tears flood his eyes. "I'm so upset, you know? It's my parents..."
The receptionist seemed to hesitate, feeling sympathy. Her eyes softened. "Oh...alright, let me see what I can do, hon."
Oscar internally cheered, while giving a soft, tearful nod.
The receptionist got in contact with a nurse, who went and got the doctor for them. When he came out, the Wheeler children swarmed him.
"It's an emergency!" Nancy cried.
"What kind of emergency?" The doctor asked.
Oscar scrambled to think. "Our sister is missing and we're going crazy with worry so we need to see our mom now! She's the only comfort we have!"
The doctor sighed. "I understand your stress, however-"
Oscar's not really sure why what he did next is the plan he went with, but he did it before he could overthink it.
Nancy and Mike stared in disbelief as Oscar collapsed on the floor.
"Oh my god!" The doctor exclaimed, kneeling down as nurses rushed over. "Get me a gourney now!"
Nancy panicked and dragged Mike away, realizing this was their only chance.
Oscar internally huffed as he felt his pulse being checked by someone. His siblings better find their mom and figure out some answers.
