Will's eyes moved back and forth under the eyelids aggressively. His head was in Oscar's lap on the couch. Joyce sat in a chair close by, watching with worry and occasionally wiping tears from her eyes.

"...I should've stopped him." Oscar whispered. Joyce looked at him. Oscar sniffed. "I'm the knight...my job is to protect the Party...be their shield...but I can't protect anyone." He choked out.

Joyce's eyes softened. "Honey...you can't blame yourself. You can't. We're all just doing the best that we can. There's nothing you could've done."

But Oscar merely shook his head, a bitter, tearful smile on his lips. "No there...there was. There is." He let out a shaky breath. "I need to fix this...I'm gonna fix this."

He kissed Will's forehead softly before gently moving him off of his lap and onto a pillow instead.

"W-Wait, where are you going?" Joyce asked worriedly.

"To see my friends." Oscar replied, and didn't offer her anything else before leaving the radio tower.

Oscar made a quick stop to his house, making something he needed before heading to the school.

"Wait a minute..." Natalie giggled between puffs of her cigarette. "You're here to what now?"

"I'm here to say goodbye. Probably for good." Oscar told them plainly.

Asher was in the corner, lighting a joint, and glaring at Oscar whenever the other two weren't looking.

Theo frowned, stepping closer. "Does this have to do with whatever weird shit is going on that you won't tell us about?"

All Oscar could do was nod.

Natalie let out a laugh, before her smile faded into something more serious. "...And we're supposed to just...let you go? When it sounds like you're planning to...what? Die?"

Even Asher had to get up from where he was crouched in the corner and come over. "Alright look man, I know I'm a grade-A asshat, and I never liked you much, but come on...you're still...one of us."

Theo reached a hand up, and set it on Oscar's shoulder. "Scar, what's going on?" He asked softly, eyes full of concern. "This isn't like...a dysphoria episode or something, is it?"

Oscar bit his lip. "...No, it's not that. This is just something I have to do, and I need you guys to trust me." None of them looked happy about it.

Hesitantly, Oscar continued. "But...I do need you to do me one last favor. A big one."

Theo, Natalie and Asher looked at him, intrigued.

Hours went by. Oscar never went back to the radio tower. He knew the others were probably looking for him by now. But it didn't matter.

Oscar made his way to the woods behind the Byers house, where he found the broken pieces of castle Byers. It had been left alone for quite sometime, nobody had bothered to clean up the remains.

Letting out a shaky breath, Oscar slipped inside and sat down on the old blanket there. He closed his eyes. "...I know you're watching me...I know you like to stalk your victims and...push them to the point of giving up." He bit his lip. "...But you don't need to do that here...because...I'm coming to you willingly."

When Oscar opened his eyes, he saw the lamp that had been turn off begin to glow.

Oscar swallowed thickly. "But you need to keep your end of the deal."

When Oscar turned his head, he wasn't in castle byers anymore, he was in the basement of their house.

His eyes widened, looking around. "Mike?" He called. "Hello?"

He turned his head again, and startled when Henry was stood right there. Henry looked down at him intensely.

"A deal?" He questioned.

Oscar forced himself to keep eye contact. "I'll be your vessel, but on 3 conditions."

Henry raised a silent eyebrow.

"Condition one...in the mindspace...you give me the right body." Oscar demanded."

Henry's expression turned to something almost akin to amusement.

A moment later, Oscar's breath hitched. He felt...different.

A weight had been removed from his upper half, and another weight was added to his lower half. His shoulders felt broader, but his hips were thinner.

"Whoa..." Oscar nearly flinched at his own voice, which had gone much deeper. An explosion of euphoria erupted in his chest, and he couldn't help his grin.

Henry returned his smile. "A simple condition. Now what is the second?"

Oscar had to focus himself back, still giddy from the change. "The second..." Oscar bit his lip. "You let Holly go."

That made Henry scowl almost warningly, but before he could protest, Oscar continued. "As long as you have me, you don't need her for your plan." Oscar reminded firmly. "I can take her place. Let her go free."

Henry stared him down, before speaking through gritted teeth. "...And the final condition?"

Oscar stepped closer, inches away from Henry's face. He spoke in a low, dark tone. "If you lay a single finger on Will or Mike...our deal is off. You want my cooperation? You'll have it, but only if I have yours."

It was clear Henry wasn't pleased with those conditions, and he stepped back, crossing his arms and thinking it over.

"If you have me, you don't need Will." Oscar reminded firmly. "I can do whatever you need. Do we have a deal?"

Henry watched him carefully, thinking it over.

Slowly, the vines covered Henry's body, giving him the armor that deemed him Vecna.

He lifted his hand up to Oscar's face, hovering over it. "...It's a deal...now show me Max."

Oscar gasped loudly as Vecna swarmed his mind, digging around and finding the memories of when Oscar visited her in the hospital.

El's eyes shot open. She'd returned earlier with Hopper, back to there rightside up, and when she got word that Oscar was missing, she'd quickly begun searching for him.

She was horrified at what she had seen.

"What do you mean he's with Vecna!?" Mike hissed in disbelief and horror.

Will had woken up the moment Vecna invaded Oscar's mind, and he looked at El with wide eyes, face pale. He swore he felt his heart stop when he heard El say that.

"They...have made a deal." El explained shakily. "And now Vecna is going for Max. We have to get to the hospital right now."
