Hawks smiles as he flies through the bedroom window. "Hey baby bird, you home?"
Immediately he found his partner on the bedroom floor crying next to the bed.
His eyes widen and he runs over.
"What happened? What's wrong?"
"K-Keigo! What are you doing home so early?"
"Kid, it's the afternoon. How long have you been crying?"
By the puffiness of their eyes, tear stained cheeks, and their damp sleeves, it's been a while.
"Since I got home." They mumble quietly, not able to look him in the eyes.
"That was hours ago baby. What made you so upset?"

(Y/n) sniffles and blows their nose with the tissue Hawks gives them.
"Just take some deep breaths. It's ok, I've got you."
"It's the people at work, and my parents and just everyone! They keep calling me the wrong pronouns. It's just over and over, that non-binary isn't a thing. I can't be non-binary."
"Oh."
Now he understood.
"What's between your legs? You're either male or female. You can't be neither and you can't be both. One of the guys at work assaulted me today because he wanted to know if I had a joystick or not."
The hero's anger boils and he clenches his fists.

"Did you tell your boss?"
"No! She thinks the same way everyone else does. Mom called on my break to explain gender and sexuality again today too."
"Your parents have old fashioned views. They don't understand. But baby bird please don't cry. I'm here and I will support you no matter what. I don't care what you identify as. I also don't care what's between your legs."
His smirk makes them blush deeply.

(Y/n) shoves their boyfriend. "Shut up," they mumble.
Hawks wraps his arm around their shoulders and holds them close.
They lay their head on his shoulder and sniffle slightly.
"I love you baby bird. That will never change."
"I love you too Birdie." They whisper softly.
Keigo kisses their temple and rubs their arm gently. "So from now on don't listen to them. They don't matter. All that matters is us, right?"
(Y/n) laughs softly and nods. "You're right. Thanks Keigo."
"You're welcome baby bird."
