Saving You From Your Ex

(Y/n) pants heavily as she runs through the streets and alleys.
Hot tears stream down her cheeks and blur her vision.
"Why are you running!?" The man chasing her yells.
"Leave me alone!" (Y/n) yells desperately. She trips but gets up quickly and keeps running.
Thankfully the distance between the two is far enough that the woman could hide behind a dumpster and pull out her phone.
"HELP ME" she quickly texts Hawks.
"No one will ever love you! Not like I did. Not like I do. Come back to me sweetheart. We can figure things out."
(Y/n) covers her mouth as she hears him getting closer.

Unfortunately he finds her and grabs her roughly by the hair.
He growls then starts beating her and kicking her.
She curls up, trying to cover her face.
"You damn bitch! No one will love you again. Not after-"
"I love her." A certain bird calls, swooping down into the alley.
The man turns quickly and looks at the blonde. "Hawks? What's the number two hero doing here?"
"Leave her alone." Hawks growls, clenching his fists. He glances down at the woman then back at the man.

"Why would you protect her? She's nothing special. Just a lowly teacher."
"She's my best friend. But she protects her students, why wouldn't I protect her? Also that's none of your business. You aren't together anymore and won't ever be again."
The man growls and lunges at the hero but Hawks sends a feather to catch the man and flies him to his nearest sidekick.
"Put this guy in a cell until I can deal with him." He grumbles using his earpiece.
"On it Hawks." The sidekick responds quickly and does as asked.

(Y/n) looks up at the hero.
Keigo kneels down and looks over her. "Are you ok?" He asks quietly.
She coughs up blood and leans into him.
The blonde wraps his arm around her and helps her to her feet.
(Y/n) wraps her arm around his neck but her legs wobble.
Hawks sighs and picks her up but she cries softly.
"Did you mean it, what you said to him?"
"Of course I did. You're my best friend (n/n)."
The woman manages a small smile while he kisses her cheek.
Her slight gasp makes him growl and his dark aura returns. "I'm gonna kill him when I get to the station."
(Y/n) grips his jacket. "Don't bother. I'll be ok."
Keigo sighs softly and holds her close. "Let's get you to the hospital.
(Y/n) frowns but nods. "Ok. Thank you Keigo."
