From the moment Keigo Takami saw the ultrasound screen, new life included, he knew life would drastically change.
Unfortunately he didn't want this kind of change.
(Y/n) talked about wanting children but knew Keigo wasn't ready.
Their plan was to wait.
He looked down at his girlfriend and rubs her shoulder. "Do you want to get rid of it?"
"I know it's unexpected and sooner than planned but we'll be ok. I wanna keep it." She responded and smiled softly. She put her hand on his and looks into his eyes.
Hawks sighs but nods. "As you wish."

Keigo knew (Y/n) was happy and she knew he was upset.
That didn't change how they felt about the other though.
The woman did everything in her power to stay healthy and take care of her and the baby.
Everything.
Keigo did his best to help her, even through the complaining.
Sometimes he would joke about it not being too late to terminate but she would glare at him and stick her tongue out.

As far as they knew their family didn't have any history of complications or defects.
(Y/n) set up a nursery by herself.
Although Keigo added a framed photo of all her ultrasounds thus far and would continue to add one each month.
(Y/n) liked to sit in the rocking chair, rub her bump and look out the window.
Since Hawks is so busy with hero work he felt bad but they both understood everything would be ok.
(Y/n) knew Keigo was nervous and apprehensive about being a father, she could always tell when he was feeling regretful.
Catching him looking at her bump with a deep frown, looking over the nursery and sighing sadly sometimes she'll overhear him on a call flat out saying he doesn't want the baby.

Keigo would never say anything to her face of course.
Eventually though he began to get giddy and a bit excited.
(Y/n) was a bit surprised by his sudden change.
He asks to feel the baby move, he asks to go to appointments but he also offered for (Y/n) to meet his mother.
Unfortunately during her 38th week things felt off.
The baby stopped moving around, her body started hurting more often... and then she saw blood run down her leg.

(Y/n) yelled out in pain, hunching over and Keigo immediately flew her to the hospital down the street.
They got her to a room and induced labor.
The hero held his girlfriend's hands while she pushed, terrified for what was happening.
The lack of communication from the doctor and nurses was heightened by the chaos of the situation.
All they said was to push.
(Y/n) cried loudly, her mind racing from anxiety and terror for her baby.

All of a sudden the rush of birth flooded over her and Keigo sighs when her squeezing reduced.
But there is no crying
Both parents look down at the doctor but he turns and immediately starts working on the baby.
"What's wrong?" (Y/n) asks weakly.
"Why isn't the baby crying?" Keigo inquires.
The nurses clean up quickly but remain silent.
"What's happening?!" (Y/n) yells desperately, trying to sit up more.
A nurse holds her down and pats her shoulder. "Calm down please miss."
"Where is my baby?"

The doctor frowns and walks over, without her baby.
Tears blur the woman's vision but she wipes her face and looks at the man.
"It was a stillborn." He responds sadly.
Everything came crashing down on the woman as those words sink in.
Keigo tenses and looks down at (Y/n) slowly.
Her bangs fall over her eyes and she clenches the sheets.
"This is all your fault." She finally whispers.
Keigo is startled by her quickly looking at him.
"This is all your fault!" She yells and bangs her fist on his chest. "You never wanted this baby and now it's dead! You did this! You killed our baby!" She yells and cries, hitting him more.
The doctor frowns and a couple nurses hold her back.
"I did everything to make sure this baby would be ok! I did everything! You did this!" (Y/n) screams, fighting against the nurses.
Hawks frowns and looks away.
The doctor gives her some sedatives and she immediately passes out.

From the moment she woke up (Y/n) didn't speak.
Her expression is constant stoic.
She signs release forms and goes home.
The apartment is empty since Hawks is out on work.
(Y/n) goes to the nursery, sits in her rocking chair and looks around.
The phantom kicks and movement cause her to rub her stomach.
Now feeling it empty, seeing her empty arms and crib, make hot tears stream down her cheeks.
The hospital informed Keigo (Y/n) had gone home and wished for him to check in on her frequently.
Without hesitation Keigo informed his sidekicks he needed to leave and flew to the apartment.

When Keigo got home he looks around for the (h/c).
"Baby bird?" He calls quietly.
Silence echoes in the place.
Finally he comes to the nursery and sees the woman in the crib, curled up.
A tiny blanket over her shoulders and a stuffed panda in her hands.
She sniffles but remains asleep.
Hawks frowns and manages to get her out and lays her in their bed. He lets her keep the panda but covers her with their blanket.
(Y/n) curls into his chest as he holds her close.
"I'm sorry baby bird. I didn't mean for this to happen." He whispers softly and closes his eyes.
