I almost forgot I sent Kakashi looking for Moriko, not gonna lie.

So, I guess this is filler, but I still tried making it canon. Idrk.

Kakashi POV

"It's just us here Kakashi-sensei, I'm sorry." Hinata apologized profusely despite nothing being her fault.

"Well yeah. Us and. . ." Kiba petted Akamaru who shivered in his jacket. Kiba jerked his head to the left, and I turned to see that the Sand siblings made it through in record time, just as Moriko said they would.

"Them. . ." Shino finished Kiba's sentence, and they all collectively took a step back in fear.

Just what did they see out there in the forest that's got them on edge about these guys?

They're strong, I'll give them that, but. . .

Kurenai's team are acting like they're trying to hide terror.

Not the normal and expected fear of your fellow peers' abilities.

The red-haired boy, Gaara, spots me looking over and begins to walk towards us. Kurenai's team immediately puts their guard up.

"Relax, nothing's gonna happen. They know to behave." I whisper.

"Tell him that." Kiba spat and his team left with him to enter the next room.

"Gaara, what are you doi--" Temari, the blonde girl asks, but is ignored by her little brother.

"You. You're the sensei of Sasuke Uchiha, aren't you?" Gaara says, as more of a statement than a question.

I nod. "That I am. Can I help you with something, young man?"

"I have a question. A question Sasuke likely won't answer until after he has fought me."

"Oh? What makes you think he won't answer you?" I ask, slightly intrigued.

"It's about his ninken." And I feel my insides go cold but keep my face neutral.

"Oh?"

" I understand that ninken to certain shinobi are very. . . precious. It's possible if I ask about the ninken, he'll misunderstand that I am threatening him. I just want information."

"Interesting. What is it you'd like to know, Gaara?" I genuinely ask, but my guard is up. This boy's aura is something fierce; even his siblings keep their distance.

Why is he interested in you, Moriko?

"Has he visited Suna? Or lost his ninken while in Suna?" Gaara tries to gauge my reaction, but I hide nothing, showing my confusion in its full capacity.

What a strange question.

"No. I can honestly say that Sasuke's never been to Suna. At least, not with me and my team he hasn't."

"I don't mean recently. This would've been years ago. He would have been a small child. Dogs run away from children all the time. Did he ever lose his wolf?" Gaara steps closer to me with each sentence. I can tell he's very much invested in knowing the truth.
