Itachi POV

"I see. . . so quite a lot has happened."

"Yes. Quite. Now take your medicine already."

Moriko gives me two pills and a small cup of water to down them with. I take the medicine in front of her, swallow the pills, and hand her back the cup. After checking to make sure I swallowed them, she leaves me be.

I tried throwing them up a few days ago when she was asleep and she did not take it well.

I don't deserve to be pain-free. I am sure some part of her agrees with me, but I can tell she's conflicted on a lot of matters regarding my presence here. Both she and Sasuke are.

They avoid me like the plague. Only the clone Moriko assigned to me when we first arrived has actually interacted with me. Sometimes she's nice and other times she wants nothing to do with me. But she stays by my side, protecting me on numerous occasions.

While traveling in the forest, our little group has come under attack several times.

Giant rabbits, like she said.

Giant snakes. Bigger than the ones I've seen Orochimaru summon.

Horned bears. Regular size surprisingly, but still ferocious and bigger than humans. I guess not everything here is huge.

Even a giant mole surprised us the other day. Each time, Moriko's clones have shielded us from being harmed. She springs into action before any of us get the chance, scares them off or engages in a quick fight where she ends up victorious and her opponent becomes dinner for her clones and us.

Not every creature here is big, but the majority certainly are.

And the majority I don't sense coming until they are right on top of us. I am by no means a sensory nin, but the fact that every time it's nothing until they are mere inches away is astounding. The sensory nin Karin is especially freaked out about it and clings to her clone like a child. She even requests that the real Moriko protect her but is shot down each time.

The real Moriko sticks with Sasuke. They train each morning a little after dawn, in the center of the ruins like clockwork. Then afterwards, Moriko starts breakfast for everyone while Sasuke heads to the falls to shower. Then they switch; Moriko goes to shower at the falls while Sasuke comes back, and everyone eats. Then Moriko heads out alone to shift and hunt while Karin goes to shower. Then Suigestu is next, then Juugo, then me.

By the time everyone is done, Moriko returns and sits with Juugo to help him in meditation and unlocking memories while two of her clones----one from Suigetsu and one from Juugo----- leave to patrol the perimeter of the ruins. Every two hours, the guard clones switch out with someone else's coming back to take on new tasks.

Searching for medicinal herbs and making ointments with Karin.

Learning water jutsus from Suigetsu whilst simultaneously teaching him to improve his taijutsu.

Learning kenjutsu from Sasuke and improving her genjutsu.

Sometimes it's her clones, other times it's the real her, depending on how the guards switch out.

She doesn't ever come to learn from me or teach me anything. Her clone asks a lot of questions about my ailment and documents it all down in a small book. I think she's trying to identify what I have. Like Sakura, it appears that she thinks she can cure it. This is the only time I am able to get any answers out of her regarding all the craziness I have seen and endured as a result of her.

"Any symptoms today?" She asks me after I take the meds.

"No. Why do you have a Sharingan?"

"I don't. I copied one."
