Theo's POV:
Okay, tonight is the night. Shai's big surprise. I stroll over to her room and we sit on the sofa for a bit. It's been a couple of days since our argument and we've actually become so much stronger for it. After about half an hour of just chatting and laughing, I realise it's time for me to start.
"Shai, would you be amazing and run to the shops for me?" I say fluttering my eyelashes like a child.
"Why? What do you need Theo?"
"I really need some eggs, and a new t-shirt. Nothing special, just a casual one, and I love you to surprise me, of course I'll pay though" I say handing her £30 not knowing what kind of t-shirt she'll get me.
After some pleading she gives in and leaves. The minute I see her driving away out the window, I run to my draw in her room and get changed into my dark blue suit, with a bright red tie. I pull out a beautiful midnight blue dress and hang it in Shai's wardrobe, it hangs alone as Shai keeps all of her stuff in her suitcase for some reason. I then put some matching shoes under her bed. I reach inside my jacket pocket and pull out notes I had arranged earlier, I put one on the front of her door so she'll see it in the hallway, saying'Look in your wardrobe' and then another, hanging on the dress saying 'Wear this, now look under your bed...' and in the shoes is another saying 'Okay, hurry now, we have reservations at La Cuisine. PS you look beautiful Shai' which is a posh restaurant not far from here, I've never been but I know Shai would just love it. I hope Shai likes the outfit, I'm not really into fashion but I thought this colour would look perfect on her. In a rush I grab my car keys and begin to drive to La Cuisine.
Shai's POV:
For some reason I'm so excited to chose Theo a t-shirt, but I don't understand why he didn't want to come. I go to the men's clothing and see one that's perfect for him, it's dark grey and says 'I'd rather be asleep' in bold black print. I grab the t-shirt and some eggs and begin my way back to the hotel, excited to show Theo his shirt.
I walk towards my door and see a pale yellow square of paper stuck to it. In neat handwriting it reads 'Look in your wardrobe'. Who could have put that there? I wonder if Theo saw anyone. I walk in without looking to see where Theo is and ask, realising shortly he's not here. Maybe he needed to go back to his room for something. I go to my bedroom and head towards my wardrobe, confused because I haven't used it once since we've arrived here. I open the doors and see a stunning blue dress, mid-thigh length and short sleeves, it's got the finest detail patterning the whole dress, I step back to take a fuller look at this gorgeous dress and see another yellow slip of paper, this time reading 'Wear this, now look under your bed...' I can only assume Theo has done all this for me, he's amazing. I don't deserve these gifts, having him is more than enough. I look under my bed and pull out some heels, matching the colour of the dress, and inside them is another note. This is so exciting, I love the mystery of this. 'Okay, hurry now, we have reservations at La Cuisine. PS you look beautiful Shai' Oh my gosh. This is wonderful, I've read about La Cuisine, it sounds absolutely amazing. I can't believe he's done all of this, for me! I rush towards the bathroom so put on some perfume and brush my hair so it falls past my shoulders, and then I leave. Making my way to La Cuisine!
As I arrive I see Theo waiting by the entrance, looking so good. He's colour coordinated our outfits, and it looks adorable. I am so lucky to have him. He looks nervous, until he sees me. His mouth falls open and I try to run towards him, even though I'm not quite used to walking in heels yet. I hug him and never want to let go. "Thank you Theo" I whisper, kissing his cheek. I feel I can't put into words how thankful I am, so I'll just have to say it how it was. "You ready?" he says, as he holds the door opening, allowing me to walk in before him.
A young man stands ahead and smiles brightly at me and Theo. Theo speeds up meeting the man and holds my hand. "We have a reservation for James" he says in his deep, British accent. "Okay," the man replies, "if you'd like to follow me Mr and Mrs James." Theo looks back at me and wiggles his eyebrows, laughing at the fact the man thinks we're married, and I can't help but laugh. We follow him through the restaurant and I start to wonder why we're not reaching our table yet, we go through some doors, and in front of me I see a small room, dimly lit, with one table for two. The table is beautifully decorated with two candles, rose petals, and deep red table cloth. I inhale quickly, in shock and look up at Theo, and he's smiling down, with a charming I-knew-you'd-like-it smile. The waiter leaves, smiling as he does and Theo pulls out a chair for me waiting for me to sit in it. I do and look ahead at the empty chair opposite me waiting for Theo to sit, but he doesn't move from behind me. Suddenly I feel a cold, thin metal touch my neck, and I look down. "Hold you hair please" Theo says through a smile, I look down and see a lovely diamond necklace. This all feels so much, but so special. He's spoiling me, and I really don't see why I deserve this. He finishes putting the necklace on me and sits down. "I can't even begin to explain how breathtaking you look this evening Shai" he says. I've never had anyone say anything like that to me before, if it was anyone but Theo I wouldn't believe them, but he sounds genuine, like he's genuinely attracted to me. "Theo I- I don't deserve all this." I don't understand what was funny but this made Theo laugh. "It's random, I know, but I wanted you to know just how much you mean to me, this doesn't even begin to match the feelings I have for you, but it's a start, and I don't want you to ever say you don't deserve this, you deserve the world." I smile and look him deeply in the eyes, we keep this eye contact for a while before I can speak. I know what I'm about to say is cliché but I mean it. "I already have the world, sitting opposite me. I love you Theodore" This is the first time I've told him I loved him since our first. I wasn't sure if I meant it the first time I said it, so I made sure to slow down, and not say again until I was sure. I'm sure now, and I'm so proud. I am so proud to be in love with him. I hope he knows that.
