Sheo's Story

Chapter Fifty-Four

Shai's POV:

I hear the knocking at the door and know it's my mum. I get Theo to open the door because I don't want her to see my ring before I tell her our big news, so sit with my hand slightly under my leg. She kisses Theo on the cheek after hugging him, he leads her through and she does the same to me, which makes me smile because she's finally greeting me and Theo equally showing she has the same amount of love for us. My mum sits down on the sofa next to the one I'm on and Theo offers her a cup of tea which she doesn't want. 

"Okay mum, Theo and I have something we want to tell you" and I take Theo's hand and hold it tightly, I really want to tell her but the words just aren't coming out. 

"Shailene and I are engaged Ms Woodley" Theo finishes and I throw my hand towards her showing my ring. 

My mum jumps up excited and kisses us both again and I feel a warm sensation cover my body as now I know it's real. It's just kicked in our the rest of my life will be spent with Theo James and it's going to be perfect. 

"Guys that's amazing, for both of you" she exclaims.

After hours of telling mum the details me and Theo realise we need to start talking weddings. So eventually we decide on a small wedding, friends and family in the woods where we first kissed, on October the 11th. That gives us 2 months to sort everything. I know it's quite soon but neither of us have a reason to wait.  

I call my friend Ana. 

"Shai!" she answers.

"Ana, hey. So I've got something to ask you."

"Anything"

"Be my maid of honour? Please."

For a moment all I can hear is her gasp.

"You're getting married?! And to Theo James?!" and it makes me smile. Yes. I'm getting married to Theo James. 

"Yes, but will you?"

"Yes of course Shai, yes!"

"Okay, Tuesday we're meeting at 'Bridal Palace' at 12 to go dress shopping, okay?"

"Sorted, see you Shai. I'm going to need more deats when we meet though" and she hangs up.

I call a few more friends, including Zoë and my mum and we're all meeting Tuesday. I look to Theo who's looking confused, fiddling with a pen. 

"What's up?"

"Who do I want as my best man?" and I laugh.

"That's up to you, who's your best friend?"

"You" he says shyly and I just fall in love with him all over again. This conversation can wait. I take the pen out of his hand and start to kiss him, he can lead the rest. 

Theo's POV:

I wake up with Shai asleep wrapped around my body and smile. This is perfect. I think Ansel is probably my closest guy friend but I'll need to talk to Shai before asking him as he is both of our friends and she might want to be involved when we tell him about the wedding. I wonder how Miles will react, I know he had feelings for Shai, he may have even been in love with her, but that's not the point. He thought irrationally when me and Shai first got together, but he may have matured.  Shai starts to fidget and stretch as she wakes up and she looks me in the eyes, "that was amazing Mr James" and I smile.

"Theo! Ansel and Miles are at the door!" Shai calls from upstairs as she's running down them. I open the door to see Miles and Ansel and we do some manly fist punch and pat on the back. They sit down and make themselves at home but I realise that I can't ask Ansel to be my best man in front of Miles, so I'll wait for that. Shai comes and sits on my lap so I wrap my arms around her and kiss her cheek. 

"Yeah, we asked you to come here because we wanted to tell you in person that we're getting married," and before I get the chance to finish my sentence Miles walks out and slams the door behind him, "and I wanted you to be part of the wedding" I finish half jokingly. Ansel gets up and shakes my hand in a boyish way and hugs Shai. "Ansel, will you be my best man?" I blurt out because I couldn't think of another way of asking. 

"Yeah man, definitely, you two are perfect for each other. I'll talk to Miles, don't worry." 

Shai get's up and suggests we all watch a movie, I think even she's tired of Miles now. Me and Shai have been together for ages.

The film is about half way through and the only thing I've been watching is Shai. She's looking at the screen but she's not watching the film. I'd do anything to know what she's thinking right now. I look over to Ansel who I think has noticed as well. I just hope she's okay.
