Theo's POV:
Thank God she said yes, for all this time I've been planning the perfect way to do this. Sneaking around, not calling her because planning a proposal and whatnot can be stressful, time consuming and so hard to keep a secret. I've never been more nervous about anything in my life but now that's all gone, she said yes. I roll over in bed and pull her closer to me, this is the rest of my life.
-
I wake up to the vibrations of my phone under my pillow. It's my mum.
'How did last night go?x'
I totally forgot to tell my mum, I was so caught up in the moment. That reminds me, we're going to have to tell Shai's mum at some point too, but I think that would be better in person.
'She said yes...😆x'
I love sending emojis, it gives that extra bit of emotion to text when words can't quite cover it. I want to make Shai breakfast in bed as it's our first day being engaged, but my cooking skills aren't great at all. I slowly get out of bed making sure not to wake Shai and walk into the kitchen. Searching through my cupboards all I can find is spaghetti hoops and bread which I will soon turn into toast. This is probably the only thing I can actually make. Once it's done I find a tray so it can be on Shai's lap in bed and walk back into the bedroom where she is still sleeping. Part of me doesn't want to disturb her from her sleep as she looks so peaceful, but I want her to see the efforts so I gently say her name until she wakes up. She looks up and notices the breakfast, her eyes light up and she laughs, I love her laugh. "Very master chef" she says and we both laugh. "Tell me about it" I reply, and we sit in bed together.
-
"Shai, come on we have to leave, we're meeting my family outside in 2 minutes!" I call at the front door.
"Yes I'm coming, I'm just getting an umbrella!" I hear her call back, and I didn't notice until then that it's raining, I was getting used to not having much rain in America.
"Ready" she appears and we leave. Walking out of my front door I see my mother and brothers approaching, my mum's arms open wide, excited about the engagement no doubt. She pulls Shai into a tight hug taking everyone by surprise.
"Congratulations darling!" She explains and releases her. Shai blushes a little, not knowing either brothers and thanks my mother. She hugs me too, and leaves Shai and my brothers to introduce themselves.
"Alright, we ready to hit the London eye?" I say, prompting everyone to start moving.Shai's POV:
Stepping into our pod on the London eye is one of the most exciting things I've done. I'm about to see so much of London, it's a beautiful place. As we slowly get higher you can start seeing more and more of the river Thames (now my favourite river) and different buildings come into sight, Big Ben, is the only one I know the name of but I recognise a lot. Theo sits down in the middle, looking a little pale and I remember he doesn't like heights. I sit next to him and take his hand, squeezing it.
"You don't have to sit with me" he manages to say, but I can here the shake in his voice.
"I want to" I reassure him as he puts his arm around my shoulders. I lean my head on his shoulder and look into the distance at London. The pod looks so pretty with rain droplets scattered over it.
"Do you like it?" Theo asks, sounding better now, I like that. I like that I have that effect on him.
"I love it Theo, London is so beautiful" I say kissing his cheek.
Yet another perfect day, and it's only 1 o'clock.
