Sheo's Story

Chapter 82

*Time lapse forward some months*

Shai's POV: 

Theo and I sit in the car on the way to the hospital for a scan. We're both so excited and we've decided to find out the sex of the baby today. Theo's whistling some random tunes and I'm watching everything pass us by. I already feel like we're parents, the bump is starting to get quite big now and we're always talking to it. I know it sounds stupid but if anything it makes us happy. 

"What do you think, he or she?" I look towards Theo and he thinks for a little while. 

"I think boy." He smiles and places a hand on the bump without taking his eyes off the road. 

"Guess we'll find out soon." I put my hand on top of Theo's and we stay like this for the rest of the journey. 

I sit in the waiting area whilst Theo signs us in. After the hospital we've arranged for Zoë, Ansel and Miles to come over the new place, they think it's to look around but they don't know about our little boy or girl yet. I can't wait for them to find out. 

"Shailene Taptiklis." The doctor calls out and we walk into the room hand in hand. She looks at Theo and asks if he's the father, although I don't know why. 

The feeling of the gel seems to relax me. We look on the screen and see the shape of our baby inside me, it's getting so big now! 

"Did you guys want to know the gender yet?" She asks and Theo replies. I'm too distracted by how amazing the screen is. 

"You're having a little boy." She says with a smile and I grip Theo's hand tightly. I don't even try to hold back the tears in my eyes. We're having a son. Even Theo sounds a little choked when he laughs. 

"I love you so much." He says in a weak voice and he kisses me. 

"I love you too," I whisper through tears. 

"I'm like a psychic." He laughs and I don't let go of his hand. The doctor leaves to give us some privacy for a bit and I sit up. 

Theo's POV:

I try to hold back tears of happiness because I'm not much of crier but I'm so happy. Shai doesn't speak and she doesn't need to. In a few months there's going to be a little boy brought into our lives and everything will change. I'm going to be a dad. 

"Thank you." I whisper sitting next to Shai.

"For what? It took both of us." She half laughs. 

"No, for everything, every single thing that's happened since I met you. Thank you for changing my life." I can't help but tell her exactly what I'm thinking and feeling. This feeling only ever exists when I'm around Shai and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be half as happy as I am right now. She leans over and kisses me softly. 

"Well you're not going to be the only guy in my life for long now." She says laughing. I laugh too, and it reminds me that I want to make the most of every minute I have with her whilst she's all mine, and then we can start the next chapter of our life. 

Shai's POV:

We arrive back at home and hear a knock on the door. 

"You ready?" I say to Theo and he opens it. Zoë stands her jaw drops completely. She hugs me and starts to scream a little leaving Ansel and Miles standing confused as they can't see the bump past her. As soon as they see it they have the same shocked look on their faces as Zoë and congratulate Theo whilst I'm taken back by Zoë. 

"Why have we only just found this out?!" She squeals in my ear. 

"We wanted to wait, have some time to celebrate by ourselves for a little while." I say still hugging her back. I lead us all into the living room and we sit, waiting for someone to say something. Theo has his naturally protective arm around my waist and Ansel finally speaks breaking the shock. 

"So do you know what you're having?"

"A baby." Theo replies sarcastically. 

"A boy." I say answering Ansel's question and they all congratulate us again. It's great to see them all so excited for us.
