Sheo's Story

Chapter 89

Shai's POV:

Theo and I woke about the same time due to some birds outside the window, he kissed me and wrapped his arms tighter around my shoulders. We had left the bedroom window open so I was grateful for the warmth we were sharing under the covers. I shifted myself so I could fit into his arms a bit better and relaxed my head on him. We are so lucky that even after the tension from yesterday we can just be here with each other and not feel uncomfortable or awkward. I guess that's what's supposed to happen in marriages though, unconditional love. 

"How are you this morning?" I ask as I lean up to kiss him. 

"That depends on how you are?" He asks with a small smile and I smile in return. 

"A bit cold." I laugh a little and he tightens his arms once more. 

"I'm good." He mumbles into my hair. 

We stay in bed for a few hours just cuddling, sharing body heat and kissing. I don't ever want to talk about his London trip again, or Ruth to be fair. I look up at Theo and find him lost in thought playing with my hair, the feeling was relaxing on my head and I felt myself getting sleepy again. 

"What you thinking about?" I murmur to keep myself awake. 

"We need to tell people you're pregnant." He says still half in his daze. 

He's right, we do. I'm both scared and excited. Obviously the delay with filming is annoying, it's annoying for me too because I love this franchise, but I'm hoping that everyone will still be happy for us and share the excitement we do! We also have to email the cast, Robert would have done it but he didn't want to be the one to have to tell them about the baby, as that's our news. So really all of this is now down to us. 

"Lets start with the email to the cast, we would rather them find out first from us right?" I say sitting up slightly and leaning over to close the window. It was starting to get stupidly cold. 

"Yeah okay."

Dear Divergent Cast (sorry don't have enough room to name you all),

You may have heard the rumours about the Insurgent filming being moved to a later date, this is true. Robert would have told you all himself but the reasoning for this delay Shai and I's news, and he didn't feel right telling you guys. 

Shailene is pregnant (with my baby) and whilst we are both extremely excited about having a son, we are also both incredibly sorry about the inconvenience of the timing. It wasn't planned. We will however be filming as soon as physically possible for Shai, and as soon as she looks like Tris again. 

Once again, we're sorry, but not that sorry, 

Theo and Shailene!

I watch Theo as he types the email, and suggest little bits to put in. Once he hits send I get butterflies in my stomach, which feels even more strange when you have a baby in there too. I take Theo's hand and he seems completely fine. I wish I didn't get so nervous when it comes to upsetting people. Theo's phone made a noise and he had a reply, from Jai. 

Hey Guys, 

No way are you having a baby? That's so awesome and I'm so happy for you both, you deserve it so much! Absolutely no need for an apology though, we all get extra time off now right ;-).

I smile, hoping that every reply goes like this one. 

Theo's POV:

Now the fans. I wasn't worried about telling the cast at all because they're all lovely people. I was maybe a little nervous about Octavia and Naomi as they're new this year, but I'm sure it will be fine. 

"How do you want to tell the fans?" I ask Shai as neither of us have social media. 

"We could record a video and ask to use the official Divergent page on Facebook?" I nod. This is really scaring me. 

We set up my phone and sit on the end of the bed after rehearsing a few times what we wanted to say. Shai was bounding her leg up and down and fiddling with the edge of the duvet. I took her hand to stop the fiddling and she noticed that was why. I click record.

"Hello, Shailene and Theo here. We have some pretty big news as you can probably see." I say waving my hands in the bump's general direction. "Shailene is pregnant, we're going to be parents! But that does mean we're going to have to delay the filming for a few months. We know you've all been waiting for a long time and we will try and get back to it as soon as safely possible for my wife." 

"We appreciate and love the support you give us every day and we'd be so grateful if you would just be patient! Thank you all so much for making this franchise possible!" Shai adds at the end, then she ends the recording. I take her hand and kiss her a little. Then my phone goes off again. Kate has replied. 

Shai and Theo,

I send as much love and happiness that is possible for you both, I am completely in awe of your relationship and you deserve nothing less. Take as much time as you need Shailene, this will be a tough but rewarding journey for you! I can't wait to meet your little boy! You'll be incredible parents the both of you!

Shai smiles widely and hugs me. 

"Theo, I am so excited to do this with you." I laugh and kiss her. 

"You have no idea."

We post the video on Facebook and leave my phone in another room as we don't want to be checking the comments just yet. We're both prepared for negative feedback and know that it will be difficult, but all we can do is ignore it. 

"Do you have any name ideas?" She asks, and I stop for a little while. Why haven't we already discussed this? 

"None that come to mind right now, no. You?" 

"Nope, I was wondering maybe if Tanner could be the middle name though?"

"Sounds perfect." I say. All we have to do is wait.
