Chapter 40

I was running through the lanes for my training Vander took Vi Powder Mylo and Claggor to go do something I decided to stay home since it was normally my training day with Sevika I was actually coming back from that she was teaching me how to use a gun even though she doesn't really use one she think that might be handy for me

I ran past one of the alleyways when I heard a commotion make me stop I turn back I walked in the alleyway recognizing your voice

"Don't come any closer" I walked further in to see Ekko he had his hands up knuckles were bleeding plus he had different bruises and cuts all over him "kid just give us what we want and you won't get hurt anymore" Ekko was about to say something but I intervene by kick the guy in the face knocking him down to the ground "how about you leave my friend alone before I make your life a living hell" he set up fixing his jaw "what can you do" I put my foot on the guy's chess knocking him down as I stared at his friends "trust me you don't want to mess with me now I'm going to take my friend with me why you all try to fix your leaders draw I'm pretty sure I broke it"

I kicked the guy down again as I grabbed Ekko by the hand taking him with me back to the last drop it was silent on the way there he was just looking down not saying a word as I kept a hold of his hand

Once we got back to the last drop I made him sit on the couch as I went to go grab the first aid kit

"all right I go the stuff" I sat in front of him as I started to tend to the wounds that was on his left hand first "you're lucky I was there little engineer I couldn't imagine what would've happen if I wasn't" I was too busy cleaning up his wounds that I didn't even knows that he started crying "I thought I could handle them I thought I could fight them off but I couldn't" he had his eyes shut and he cried I just shook my head moved my hand to his cheek wiping away the tears "look at me" I could tell he was hesitant but he did what I asked "you don't have to beat yourself up over it i'm here I will always protect you all you have to do it come to me i'll put up a fight for you you're my friend I care for you so please come to me as fast as you can and I will handle it" I stood up wrapping my arms around him letting him cry in my chess as I rubbing circles on his back he grabbed the back of my shirt as he cried "hey now it's all right I'm here i'm not gonna let anyone of them get you I promise not as long as I'm here"

After a while he finally calm down he moved his head up so he could look at me "thanks (e's/n) and same thing goes for you if you ever need help let me know i'll help you no matter what" I gave him a smile as I ruffled his hair "all right little engineer let me finish trading your wounds" he nodded hits head as I finished wrapping both of his hands up

I was laying on the couch with Ekko he was cuddled up next to me fast asleep I didn't bother to move or move him I was telling him about different missions that I went on before he fell asleep I just held him close to me as I was reading one of my books happy to know that he was all right after a while I close my book pudding it down on the table and then wrap my other arm around him I close my eyes wanted to get some sleep until I heard the door open

"did these two fall asleep" I could tell by the voice that it was Vendor I didn't bother open my eyes since I wanted to get some sleep he didn't say another word but I knew he was still down here I then felt a blanket being thrown over me and Ekko "sleep tight you two I'll wake you both up when food is done" I waited until he left the room

I opened my eyes to see the blanket he flew over us I just shook my head as I pulled Ekko closer and got comfortable I close my eyes finally getting some sleep but before I drift off I whispered to Ekko knowing that he couldn't hear me

"you will never have to worry as long as I'm here I'll make sure you're safe I'll make sure everyone here is safe I promise you that" I the  closed my eyes finally getting some sleep

"Mom can you tell me more about the deal you made" I looked at my son then looked back up at the stars "it's a pretty simple deal you see I broke into this penthouse when I was younger with Vi Mylo and Claggor there was an explosion that happened and I got caught in it I survived though I was taken to a hospital they wanted to know more about my friends that I was with I wouldn't say anything so they left it at that there was another explosion well a blue light the scientist that's made the hextech decided to text it without anyone's knowledge when we got there we saw what was going on they found out that I absorbed some of the hextech's magic they then offered me if I stay in Piltover and I become a lab rat for those two scientist the people I was with they won't go after them they'll be safe but if I decide to run away they'll go after them if I get send to South water the prison I wouldn't know if they would be safer for not so I chose to stay in Piltover wanting to keep them together of course that does mean I would never be able to see them again that I'm not gonna be able to go back to my home but hey if I did I wouldn't have a met you or Hugo Zero and Zoe of course I do miss miss them a lot"

I close my eyes as Zepher asked his next question "can you tell me more about your wildflower" I gave him a smile as I move him closer "all right one more story and then we both need to get the bed"
