Giyuu's pov:

I wonder how Sabito's doing... I start to worry as i swiftly run through the dark and cold forest. I was sent on a mission to kill a demon in the town nearby. However... It's odd. I haven't run into any demons for a while.

Once i get to the town, i witness many people walking around the buzzing streets as if no one had been killed at all. I suppose it's normal for a town of this size... i look around with my old crow on my shoulder.

Maybe i should take a small rest... I think to myself as i sit down on a bench.

My thigh has been aching, possibly due to not caring for it much after i pulled a ham string. My arm has been hurting less even though it's the one that's broken.

Lately I've been working a lot... I wouldn't call it overworking, but distracting myself.

It has been awfully quiet without Sabito, so i had to find something to do to pass the time until he comes back. Which he will, I'm sure of it!

The next thing i know, the sky gets dark and I'm fast asleep...

I hear footsteps approach. They were quiet, but they also had a bit of suppression to the step. As if whoever was approaching was trying to not wake me up...

"Dozing off on the job? That's odd, especially for you Giyuu"

A... Voice? It's familiar... Quiet but comforting. Like a whisper in the wind.

I start to open my eyes, but once i do i see nothing but a dark street infront of me. The once busy street, was now bare.

I look from left to right to see where that voice had disappeared to.

"I'm Behind you my little fox"

Before i can swiftly turn around, a pair of hands snake around my eyes, covering my vision. His hands are cold... It's different from the warmth he used to have.

"Where have you been?..." I ask quietly.

"I've been around" I shiver slightly as i feel a cold breath go down my neck, the voice whispering quietly into my ear.

It's his voice, But... Something feels off.

"Your hands are cold Sabito..." I mumble as i bring my non injured arm up to put my hand on his.

"My hands have always been cold, what do you mean?"

Something is definitely off...

I start to feel uncomfortable, even though the person speaking sounds and possibly looks like sabito... It's not him.

I jump up and out of his grip, struggling with the landing as i look back at him.

He does look like sabito, but... The look in his eyes is different.

"What's wrong Giyuu?" He says as he walks out from behind the bench and closer to me.

"You're not Sabito." I say, but before i can draw my katana, a pair of arms snake around me. Completely stopping me in my tracks.

"How did you-" i get cut off as he wraps his hand around my throat, choking me from behind.

I'm too tired for this shit. I'm injured, depressed and I need a vacation with the REAL Sabito. I glare at him annoyed.

I get out of his grip and quickly draw my katana, slashing at him, using water breathing 3rd form; flowing dance. However, while using the graceful form, i was only able to amputate one of his hands.

I charge at him again, this time using constant flux... However, he was quicker. I'm not sure whether im losing is because of my injuries, or because he has Sabito's face...

The demon knocks my katana out of my hands... Fuck.

I go to grab my katana, but he stops me by grabbing my injured arm and pulling me in before biting my shoulder. making me let out a loud yelp.

Suddnly there was a load of pressure gone as the demon biting me has disappeared.

I then fall to the floor and clutch the bleeding bite mark. I swiftly stumble back up, but realize that the demon is no where to be seen.

That disguise though... It would've tricked me if i hadn't had a rest and the demon might actually have been able to get me to- never mind.

I shake my head as i search for the demon. Once i find the demon however, it's already been decapitated and was slowly deteriorating.

I wasn't aware of any other slayers being within the proximity of this town... What good am i? Why send me if they got someone better to kill it off.

I take a moment to review the battle, realizing one thing. I could've prevented any more injuries by using dead calm... I'm useless

Suddenly, my vision is cut out as i feel cold hands wrap around my eyes once more.

"Guess who? It's the real one this time..." Sabito! Although his hands are cold too.. This is definitely the real one!

"Sabito!" I shout as i turn around and hug him, burying my face into his chest. He wraps his arm around me, while the other strokes my hair.

Where's his heartbeat... I go to raise my head and look at him, but he stops me by holding my head down.

"You might not want to do that love..." He says as he kisses my head.

I fight against his hand anyway making him give in as i look up at his face.

"Sabito... You..." I stare in shock as tears form in the corner of my eyes.

"Wait wait wait! Please don't cry!" He says panicking. But how could i not... His eyes are nearly as dull as mine and his skin is porcelain white... He even has fangs.

I stay silent as i hug him once more, not wanting to let go.

"Sabi-"

"I don't want to hear anything from you until we get thise injuries sorted!" Sabito interrupts as he picks me up.

He then takes me to a small house, a little from the town and puts me down in a room with a singular futon. That's when an unfamiliar woman enters the room.

Sabito walks over to her and greets her before whispering something into her ear. I might've gotten jealous if it wasn't for the fact that she was an old lady that was probably in her 80's...

There was an insane ringing in my ears...

I struggle to keep my eyes open as my body starts going limp...

Sabito shouts something as he runs over to me, catching me as i collapse.

Everything then goes dark...
