Dimitri's hands traced her whole body, leaving a hot trail behind them. It felt exhilarating. Every touch was so intense it overwhelmed her, erasing all of her thoughts and the space was filled with only him.

The table under her creaked loudly making both of them realise where they were and what they were doing. Breaking their kiss Delilah rested her forehead against his, trying to catch her breath.

"I don't think this will work," she said chuckling breathlessly. Shaking his head Dimitri leaned in for a short kiss before straightening his back, his arms never leaving her.

"You're right," he agreed while his thumb caressed the exposed skin of her thigh.

"But that doesn't mean we have to stop," his eyes suddenly widened. "I mean if you want to continue."

Delilah placed her hand on his face, tracing the curve of his lips with her finger.

"If you think a squeaky table is going to stop me from kissing you, you are very wrong. The only thing that could stop me is you, so tell me, do you want to continue?"

Instead of answering with words, Dimitri kissed her again. This kiss was different from the first one, it was sweeter and more gentle. Her light moan of surprise and pleasure was muted by his soft lips.

At that moment Delilah realised she could never get enough of this. The warmth he enveloped her in, the way his smell blinded all of her senses. It was like a living piece of heaven just for her.

Before their kiss could get more heated again they heard the library door open. Both of them stopped, Dimitri took a step back allowing her to slide off of the table. With both of her feet on the ground, Delilah straightened her dress.

The door closed again and the sound of footsteps coming their way filled the room. Delilah looked up at Dimitri in alarm which made him lower his head to her ear.

"Stay here. I'll distract them and you can slip out," he was in his Guardian mode and even though she didn't think it was possible, it made him even more attractive.

Dimitri let go of her and walked from behind the bookshelf.

"Lady Vogel, what a surprise to see you here," those words drained the colour out of Delilah's face.

"Guardian Belikov," it almost sounded like a purr. "I would say you are the more surprising visitor in a Moroi library."

Delilah was filled with dread, it wasn't going well and it didn't help she could see them. For all she knew, Tatiana could be draping her arms around him right now.

"At a loss of words, Guardian? Tell me, what are you looking for?"

There was a pause before he answered, "Twin Of Fire by Jude Deveraux." And then there were footsteps walking further away from Delilah.

She didn't know what the signal would be so she decided to peak around the corner. And thank the saints she did, Tatiana was standing with her back turned to Delilah with Dimitri facing a shelf.

He cleared his throat and in that second she knew that that was the signal. Her feet moved before she could think twice about it. She walked behind Tatiana trying to be as quiet as possible. After she was safe and Lady Vogel wouldn't be able to see her even if she turned Delilah opened the door softly and slipped out.

Dimitri didn't know if Tatiana heard the door but he certainly did. A feeling of relief went through him.

"Looks like I found it," he spoke while taking a book off of the shelf. "If you'll excuse me, my lady."

"You should be more careful with the places you take your book, Guardian," and with that she turned away from him, walking towards another bookshelf.

Dimitri walked out confused by Tatiana's words and when he rounded a corner he bumped into Delilah, almost making her fall backwards.

He quickly grabbed her with both of his arms, steadying her. For a few seconds, they just stared at each other before Delilah's gaze lowered. She gasped slightly, taking her hand and brushing the skin on his neck.

"Ops," she giggled when he frowned. "I must have got a little carried away."

"What is it?" he questioned appearing even more confused by her words. Delilah looked around them and when she saw a mirror just a few steps away from them she dragged him towards it.

When he saw their reflection the first thing he looked at was her. He couldn't believe she could look even more beautiful but here, in his arms with red cheeks and swollen lips, it was as if seeing an angel.

Catching him staring at her and not at his neck she cleared her throat. It worked and his gaze travelled to the spot she brushed just a few moments before. There it was, a light lipstick stain with a bruise forming under it. She had given him a hickey.

At that moment he realised what Tatiana meant by her departing words. She must have figured it out, but he didn't know if she knew who he was with.

"Sorry," Delilah spoke with a cheeky tone.

"We both know you're not really sorry."

"That's true but," she stopped to place a feather-light kiss on the now tender part of his neck. "Are you angry?"

"I could never be angry at you."

"Shame," that word would be the centre of his next dream.

"Maybe we could take this to my bedroom?" Delilah asked, her eyes glittering with excitement from seeing how his gaze darkened.

"Lead the way, my beautiful Delayla," his last words were barely a whisper.
