"Guardian Belikov," Commander Croft began the Trial, standing with his hands behind his back. "It appears you either lied in your mission report that Guardian Tanner was dead or someone else led you to believe she was. And with your spotless record and insistence that you stand by your story, I have to ask...are you lying?"
"Or are you covering for another Guardian? Or both?" Dimitri subtly turned his gaze to Alberta who was sitting on the left side of the commander.
The room was mostly empty except for the two Guardians guarding the exits and around two or three more who were sitting on the stands. Alberta was amongst them and after seeing the look Dimitri gave her, she knew he really was covering for someone.
Dimitri looked at the ground before he lifted his gaze towards the man in front of him.
"I was the commanding officer," he started, his voice loud and clear. "I was responsible for the veracity of the information I relayed. Any gap between my report and the truth rests solely on me, as should the punishment for giving false information."
"You haven't answered my question."
"I have nothing further to say," Dimitri concluded, his jaw tightening from how frustrated he felt. "Though I wonder at your prioritizing punishing a Guardian during a time of civil unrest."
"How can we expect any kind of order if we allow a Guardian to disobey?" The Commander stepped closer, glaring at the Dhampir in front of him. "Guardian Belikov, you gave me no choice. I declare you guilty of treason."
"You'll be taken to the dungeons until you are sentenced by the Queen," with that the commander stepped away, letting the other two Guardians cuff Dimitri.
"May the Saints have mercy on you."

"Hello? James, if you're still out there, please!"Lissa banged on the door, her voice quivering.
Seeing as no one answered, the girl sighed walking away from the door and towards the cold fireplace with family photos on top of it. She lifted one of the fallen pictures and saw that it was torn, leaving only Victor, Robert and Mia.
Lissa noticed the dying plant next to the photos and decided to try her powers. Taking a deep breath she outstretched her arm and placed her hand on the pot so she was touching the soil too. The moment her hand made contact a golden glow appeared and the plant started healing itself.
As the plant grew bigger and more vibrant, Lissa took a step back from it, inhaling sharply.
"You know what that means," an echo of Andre's voice made the girl roll her eyes and turn towards the sound.
"I thought you got what you wanted when I remembered the accident."
Andre was currently sitting at Victor's desk with his feet up on the table with a smug expression as he saw the irritation on his sister's face.
"Oh, come on. You're a little happy to see me," Lissa smiled at that, it was true but there was a reason for his sudden appearance.
"Except it means the drugs are out of my system."
"Is that so bad?" he shrugged and Lissa noticed he was wearing the suit he wore before the accident.
"If Sonya's any indicator," she took a few steps towards him as she grew more and more frustrated. "Apparently, my magic makes people want to burn me at the stake and me want to turn Strigoi."
