◇─────────────────◇Covered with her red cape Lissa was making her way among the hurt vampires. As she looked around it was difficult to see much of anything because of the smoke that was travelling through the air.
Everywhere Lissa looked she could see Moroi trying to cover themselves from the sun with Dhampirs helping them with their injuries. Holding her dress to make it easier to walk she unknowingly walked past Mia who noticed her immediately.
"Lissa?" Mia questioned as she wasn't entirely sure if she was really seeing the girl.
When Lissa turned around she saw how Mia was attempting to stand up with the help of her parasol. The girl managed to walk closer to the princess before she raised the parasol over their heads.
"Wait, what happened?" Lissa asked as she took her hood off revealing her silver crown.
"I was hiding in the cistern with a bunch of students," Mia started after she released a pained sigh. "And there was a Strigoi attack, and then a stampede, and some fucking idiot crushed my foot."
"Okay, well, I can-"
"No, no, no. No healing," she stopped her before the princess had time to even bent down.
"Hey, no crying either," Mia spoke with a grimace as she tried to smile and calm her friend down. "If you start, I'll start, and I don't think I'll ever stop."
"Mia, they poisoned the Queen," Lissa stepped closer before whispering. "I tried to heal her, but it's not like a wound. I wanted to, but I couldn't cure her."
Mia was stunned. The information of the queen being murdered was so shocking she didn't even know what to say and for her, it was a first.
"And she said they're after me too," that seemed to wake Mia out of shock because she looked around them with a plan already brewing in her head.
"Then you can't stay here. You need to take that off," Mia observed as she pointed towards the crown on Lissa's head making the girl quickly take it off. "You're a big enough target as it is. We need to get you to another province until the wards are back up."
"I don't see how without any buses," Lissa uttered hopelessly as Mia looked around again.
"No, I know."
"I think I have an idea. Come on," Mia instructed the princess and they started making their way through the crowds.

The tunnels were so dark both of them needed to use flashlights. Slowly they turned around a corner when Rose declared she didn't feel any Strigoi nearby. Looking at the ground Rose noticed weird symbols carved into the stone.
"What are these?" She asked, making Dimitri walk closer to inspect them.
"Alchemist symbols." He said the moment he saw them, not looking very happy to see them.
"Alchemists?"
"Per the human treaty, it's their job to keep us a secret in the human world and to provide the Moroi with feeders," Dimitri explained as they continued down the tunnel.
"How have I never heard of them?"
"Only heads of families and upper-level Guardians know about them."
"Alchemists think Moroi and Dhampirs are evil, an abomination against their go," he continued, his right hand holding his flashlight, crossed over his left one holding a Guardian dagger.
