As her mind finally recognised the alarm Delilah quickly threw all of her things into her bag, grabbed the now closed book and started running towards the exit. It wasn't hard to find and when she got her chance she slipped past the panicking Moroi arguing with her Guardian.

The situation outside wasn't much different to the one inside. Screams of terror echoed through the whole province, everywhere you looked you could see a running Moroi but Delilah hadn't seen any Strigoi, yet.

Tightening her grip on her bag Delilah tried to think of what to do. She left the library in such a hurry she hadn't even thought about where she was going. Where should she go?

Lissa was with the queen and even if she managed to get to them there was a big chance the Council would turn her away. Rose was already gone with Mason. Delilah was starting to panic as she looked around.

As she started losing all of her hope, out of the corner of her eye she saw a limping Dhampir holding onto the wall next to her as she walked towards the dungeons. The moment Delilah recognised her for Alberta she ran after her.

Delilah turned the corner Alberta had just walked by and was met with an empty, dark hallway with the only light at the end of it. At the very last second, she noticed a shadow and she bolted after it.

The screams and yells from the outside seemed to become quieter and quieter as she continued on further. Once she reached a spiralling staircase Delilah didn't hesitate before quickly running down, almost slipping a few times.

There was blood on the railing and when she got down to the bottom of the stairs she could see a groaning, bleeding Alberta leaning against a wall, trying to gather her strength.

It was unusual the Guardian hadn't heard her coming from a mile away but Delilah didn't delve into it too long seeing as Alberta was currently fighting for her life.

"Alberta," the girl whispered as she placed her hand on the Guardian who in return gasped and went to flinch away but after she recognised it was only Delilah she calmed down.

"Help me," Alberta rasped as she threw her arm around Delilah's shoulder and started limping further into the dungeons.

Delilah wanted to argue but when they entered the next room all of her words became stuck in her throat. Both Sasha and Dimitri looked up at the sudden noise. Alberta took her arm from around Delilah as they walked closer to the cells.

The Guardian ignored all of their burning stares as she put in the code and both of their cells opened. They walked out and turned towards Alberta who looked whiter than a second ago.

"Go," Alberta spoke, her voice even rougher than before, when she saw that neither of them had moved.

"But you're hurt," Delilah whispered softly as she felt tears forming in her eyes.

"Go!" She repeated towards the two Guardians and nodded her head towards Delilah, indicating they needed to take her away.

Dimitri put his hand on Delilah's shoulder and lightly started pushing her towards Sasha. Seeing there wasn't anything that could change Alberta's mind Delilah sighed and turned towards Sasha.

As they started picking up speed Dimitri's hand slides from her shoulder to her hand as he run before her, gently tugging her to run faster. He had a lot to say to the girl but now wasn't the right time to scold her for any of this.
