Chapter 17

Lyrics's POV

I am walking back to my room like a zombie. How will I react when he confessed to me on my 18th birthday? I still don't want a relationship with him.  We can just say we love each other and not be boyfriends, right?
Ugh. He said he will say how much he loves me on that day, and I am not sure if I am prepared for that. My heart is going crazy again.

I met my dad in the hallway.

"I told you to be back on dinner. We left your food on the table." My dad told me.

"I ate with my bodyguards," I answered.

"You mean you skipped dinner with us to eat with them?" He crossed his arms and leaned on my door.

"Ugh. I went there to check on Hunter but I saw him enjoying his dinner with Rogue so I did what I have to do."

"Okay, tell me what did you do again."
My dad looked so done with me.

"I have no choice but to sit between them to separate the two."

"And you said you don't want to be in love or be in a relationship with him." My dad raised a brow.

"It's true, but it doesn't mean that I want Hunter to be with someone else too. Have you seen my heart? I felt like it was breaking in two earlier because of that guy. 💔"

"It's late, Lyrics. Sleep." My dad got annoyed again.

"Dad, he said he will tell me how much he loves me on my 18th birthday. How about you send me to another country when I turned eighteen so we can be in a long-distance relationship? I mean if we became boyfriends, I don't know how to act. What if he asks me for a kiss?"

"LYRICS!" He gritted his teeth. "How about I send you now to the deserted island?"

"I'll sleep now. Good night, daddy."

I checked Hunter's Instagram. He has no new posts.

Let me sleep early tonight.

Time check: 1:36 AM

Shia! I am so sleepy but I couldn't sleep at all.

All I can see is Hunter's face. I am turning crazy. This is not good.

I called his phone, but he is not answering. He is probably talking to someone else this time. Around this time? Really? No. Probably not. Hunter is strict with his schedule.

I called him one more time. He should be awake because I couldn't sleep.

Okay! You are really not waking up, I pressed my emergency wristband.

I received a call from Rock immediately. "Sir, what happened?"

"Is Hunter awake?"

"Everyone in the team Ace woke up, sir." Rock told me.

Oh, my God! I forgot that it is connected to all my bodyguards' devices. What did I do? It is because of Hunter. I am slowly becoming stupid.

I cleared my throat. "It is just a test to see if all devices are working. Report to me who did not wake up when it alarmed."

"Yes, sir. Gladly, everyone from Team Ace passed the test."

"Good job, Rock. Tell Hunter to call me too." I dropped the call.

I shouldn't be embarrassed. It is really a test. You did nothing wrong. I pat my own shoulder.

I found a message on my phone when I ended the call. "What happened, sir? Are you okay? Tell me you are in your room, right?"
