Unholy (Rain x Reader)

Rose Gardens

   "(Y/n) we had heard what happened can we come in?" Zara asked gently and knocked on the door. I slowly got up feeling a little better but still a little woozy and tired. I opened the door.

"Oh Lucifer you look terrible here let us help you clean up." Zara looked at me apologetically. She and Jordan helped me to the bathroom and get ready to shower. "We will be right out here if you need us."

I stepped into the shower letting the warm water sink into my skin. I lazily washed my hair and body then got out of the shower and put on a tee shirt with some sweatpants to be comfortable. I saw that it was raining out so I probably wouldn't be going outside not that I wanted to anyway. I opened the door to see the girls standing there talking about something I couldn't care for.

    "Oh you're done how are you feeling?" Jordan asked with concern. I gave a lazy thumbs up.

    "Oh you poor thing here lay back down I'll go get you some food and Jordan will stay here to make sure you're alright." Zara left and I laid on the bed while Jordan pulled the chair over to sit next to me.

    "You know after what happened two nights ago they started having ghouls patrolling the abbey. Apparently vampires are terrified of ghouls did you know that?" She smiled. I nodded. "You know I find ghouls so interesting I don't see them as child eating murderers like a lot of people in this church do" she coughed clearly talking about Zara. "There are books about them in the library and they are so interesting. Like did you know they have mates which is like there soulmates which I find adorable.   They also have a really strong sense of smell and hearing and not only that but they have certain elements that they can control but like other then that and there appearance they are very much like humans with there emotions and thoughts and such." She went on and on with facts that I found extremely interesting until Zara got here with food then she quickly stopped talking.

     "Here eat this then we will be out of your hair." Zara handed me a protein bar and a red Gatorade and an orange. I slowly opened the protein bar and ate it in small bites. By the time I was finished I had waken up a bit more and was able to move around more. I smiled to thank the girls and they left.

      The rain had started to clear up. I sat in bed for a couple of hours just drawing. I thought back to that little art shop and the bunny Molly that sat on top of the counter. I started to draw her sitting like a little loaf. I wrote her name on the top of the page. She was adorable. I checked the time on my alarm clock and saw it was 9:30 pm which was passed my dinner time but dinner time for all the ghouls. I got up stumbling a bit putting my sketchbook and pencils in my bag and put it on walking to the kitchens. I was gonna grab something to eat then sit in the courtyard to eat and sketch there.

    I walked into the kitchens (more like stumbled) where the chefs saw me and immediately knew what was going on. They handed me a lunch wrap and a water bottle and sent me on my way. As I was leaving for the courtyard I saw two ghouls talking to each other by the doorway into the courtyard. I immediately recognized them as Swiss and Aether. They were talking amongst themselves and didn't even realize I was there. I didn't want to interrupt there conversation but I really wanted to go to outside. I needed the fresh air.  I walked closer to the two ghouls who finally noticed me.

    "Ah how's our favorite little human doing this fine evening." Swiss joked. I gave him a smile. "That's good what are you up to?" He asked with a smile.

    Wanted to eat dinner in the courtyard. I wrote in my notes app and showed him. He cocked his eyebrow.

    "Is this because Rain is in there right now? Did he invite you?" He questioned. I have a confused look I had no idea Rain was in the courtyard now. I mean it makes sense he did mention how he loved it in there.

    I didn't know he was in there. I flipped my phone to him again.

   "Really?" He asked with amusement.

    "Swiss just let her in she wants to eat her food." Aether laughed.

    "Oh right- sorry." Swiss spurted an apology. I smiled up at him as they moved out of the way and opened the door for me.

    The courtyard was dark only illuminated by the full moon that was out. There was a slight warm breeze that was comforting. I noticed that Rain was at one of the tables he was facing me but his head was down in his sketchbook his back to the table he was by the rose gardens he was very invested in drawing to notice me walk in. I quietly walked up to him and sat down opening my bag and started eating. I saw Rain jump in his seat his tail stuck straight up and he quickly turned around. I started laughing really hard.

    "Lucifer don't do that you scared the shit out of me!" He gasped catching his breath. I laughed more trying not to choke on my food. "Anyway, how are you feeling today?" He asked with concern not flipping his legs so he was facing me.

    Good still feeling a little weak but much better.

    "Well that's good."

    Enjoining the courtyard?

    "Yeah I really missed it I'm glad I can be outside again. Maybe one day I'll be able to leave the church again, at night obviously. There is this really cool spot I'd like to show you I think you'd really like it!" His eyes lit up through his mask.

     I'd like that. I smiled as I finished my food now taking out my sketchbook.

    "Really?" He asked with amazement. It was honestly adorable how he was acting. I was happy he was finally able to be out here again.

   Of course. You know we can just try to sneak out. I smirked.

    "Thats a dangerous game we would be playing at." His voice got deeper so no one would hear us. Not that anyone could we were by ourselves out here.

    We could do it. I stated plainly. Just don't get caught. I smiled.

    "Right I forgot how much of a rebel you were in you teen years." He let out a low chuckle that sent shivers down my spine. I just smiled at him. "Okay I trust you. Do we need to make a plan?" He questioned quietly.

    Oh definitely, don't worry though I got it.

    We both went back to drawing and I was finishing up the drawing of Molly.

    "Woah that's a good drawing of a bunny." He complemented. I smiled.

    Thanks.

    "Did you name her Molly?"

   No it was the bunny of the owner of the art store I got the sketchbook from.

    "Oh cool." We went back to drawing in our books. I peeked up from mine to see Rain drawing roses in his. "It's a beautiful night don't you think." He asked looking up at the sky. I did the same. The moon was big and there were a bunch of stars surrounding it. I looked at it for a while. He was right it was beautiful out tonight. After a couple more seconds of looking at the sky I looked back down at him only to see he was already looking at me. He tried to play it off by looking somewhere else then looked back at me.

It really is beautiful. I smiled at him. I looked back up and realized how high in the sky the moon was. I checked my phone that read 12:28

    It's getting late I should get to bed. Thank you for allowing me to sit with you.  I thanked him as I put my stuff away and stood up getting ready to leave.

    "Oh it's no problem really I love hanging out with you I gotta stay behind because this is where I'm stationed but I'll see you later." Rain smiled. I walked out and saw Aether and Swiss still standing by the door.

     "How was your little hangout?" Swiss questioned I just smiled at him. "I'll see you tomorrow (Y/n) don't forget!"
