The room was dark and cold. None of the candles were lit so Azalea took one of the candles from in the hall and brought it in to light up the room which revealed what looked like a old operating table and a bunch of cabinets along the wall.
"We haven't had food just show up in so long and you're right here so you wouldn't mind us just taking any right?" Azalea asked his voice going dark looking at me. I quickly whipped my head around and my eyes went wide. He was holding a syringe and a plastic tube. "Do you like it Darling? I grabbed these before I showed up at the church." He smiled giving a flick to the syringe. "Get up on the table Darling and it will be painless." He began to tower over me. I looked at him with pure panic in my eyes as I was backed into a corner. I tried to get away but grabbed my wrist so I couldn't run away. I began kicking and scratching with my free hand. "Oh come on darling I'm not going to kill you. If you just stay here you can put an end to all the vampire attacks. My people need to eat." He began to plea with a gruff in his voice. I just kept going but no matter what I did he just stood there unbothered. I began to cry as I kept trying but I began losing hope and started to slow down. "There we go darling just calm down and relax." Azalea cooed into my ear. I was shaking but completely out of energy.
After a few moments Azalea picked me up and laid me on the bed.
"Don't do anything funny and you'll be fine." He spoke gently as I felt a cold prick in my arm. I just laid my head in the pillow and let the tears silently fall from my eyes. The room seemed to be getting darker and darker and I could only see blotches of color around the room. It the occurred to me that he was taking to much blood and I was about to pass out.
"No... no please." I whimpered out in a panic sitting up trying to get the needle out of my arm.
"Stay. still." He gritted his teeth holding my arm down and he pushed me back down.
"There we go darling. You did so well." I could tell he was smiling but I still continued to keep my eyes closed.
"I know it was a lot but in a few hours you will be feeling much better. Here let's get you to your room and I'll get Ella to bring you some food.I began to try to stand up but quickly started to stumble over. I felt cold hands grab my hips.
"Careful there darling don't need another hospital visit." He chuckled out. I winced at it. It didn't physically hurt but I remember Rain doing the exact same thing that night Jax attacked. "Here let me carry you back to your room."
I felt myself fall asleep on the way there and was only awaken by feeling the softness of the bed.
"Thank you for today." I felt him caress my face but I was to weak to push him away. "I'm sorry about all of this but hopefully you will understand that this was all necessary." He let out a deep sigh.
How? How was this all necessary? You took everything I've ever loved. My father my best friend and now the only sense of home I've ever felt.
I felt my face contort with anger. I was trying to say something but it was only coming out as a low grumble so I just gave up.
"Who did this?" He asked softly his finger tracing over the fresh wounds on my arm the finding its way over to the bite scar on my arm. "Was it a ghoul?" He questioned. I shook my head no I didn't want to explain this whole story. Not that I could anyway. "Don't lie to me." I just shook my head again. "You know your dad always wanted to meet a ghoul. I always told him it was a bad idea because they would kill him. Guess I should've warned him about vampires to." He laughed at the last part. I felt anger bubble in me. This man was laughing about killing my father. "You remind me of your father. Hanging around and being friends with demonic creatures. You both know that they can kill you yet you both don't care. It's admirable to be honest but it got your father killed. Who knows maybe I saved you from being ghoul food. They are filthy creatures aren't they? God your lucky I got you out of there." He paused for a second. "Here I'll make you a deal. You only have to work once a week in exchange for your blood. Sound good? Good you're not getting much of a choice anyway." I opened my eyes a bit to see him smiling down at me. "Thank you again darling. I'll see you tomorrow." He got up and blew all the candles out. All I could do is let the darkness consume me as he left the room.
