I went to my room confused as all hell because I have no idea how she knew that I'm that close to all the ghouls and what the fuck is a blood moon. I decided that if it is a book on the ghouls I won't tell them I have it because I don't want to make it seem weird that I have a book on how they are. I of course showered then went to get lunch to sit with Rain in the courtyard. When I was done eating I told Rain what Sister Imperator had told me about being allowed to go hang out with the ghouls as I please.
"Really? That's suspicious. And what does she mean by to dangerous to take you away from us now? I mean like I'm sure most of us would be pissed but we aren't going to kill her or anything." He huffed out.
I don't know I thought it was super weird and also how did she know? Then it clicked.
Zara and Jordan. Oh my god it was Zara and Jordan. I mean how else would she know.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
I know who it was. I told him my mouth wide open in realization.
"Who?" He asked concerned. I pulled my phone out to write their names down and showed Rain. "Do you really think it's them?" He whispered. I nodded. "I wonder why?"
I guess they tried to snitch or something but it ended up falling? I told him my theory on this.
"Maybe that's super weird. Did she say anything else?" He asked.
Nope. That was it. It didn't feel good to lie to Rain but I'm sure he can know soon. I just don't want it to be hella weird that I have a book about them.
"Hmm that's weird but I mean I guess it's a good thing I'm not going to complain. Do you want to come over when my patrol is over I'll have to come get you because I would like to change before we hand." He asked stuttering on his words.
Yes that sounds good. I smiled at him.
"Alright I'll see you later love." He smiled at me and I blushed before waving bye and heading to my room.
I sat on my bed reading the book that I have been given. It was a dark red book almost black and it was made with leather it felt like the leather on my sketchbook but smaller. I opened the first page to a glossary.

I decided that because the book was given to me to learn about blood moons I should look at the chapter on moons and there affect on ghouls. I flipped to page twenty which had all the information on blood moons.
Blood moons aren't the most dangerous moon for ghouls and the humans around them but they are up there so here is what the blood moon does to ghouls. (Go to page 37 to see how to protect yourself from ghouls affected by this.) A blood moon will make ghouls more territorial over their pack and/or mate and will attack anything or anyone that tries to go near them. Even if another ghoul from a different pack or a human that is friends with the ghouls should stay clear of them during a blood moon because they can be trapped in this sort of haze if someone that's not in their pack comes around.(Even if in any other situation they would protect you in any other circumstance if you are not in the pack or one of their mates they can and will attack you.)
They really are stressing the fact that they will attack unless you are a mate or in a pack. Which confused me I mean I've heard of mates from Jordan that one time. I should probably read about it on page 55 that probably has information on it or page 50.

Ghouls are creatures that are territorial even when there aren't any odd moons out. If they ever make a new friend the friend ends up being taken away from them for any reason they will attack what has taken them away or be stuck in a small depressive episode but it wouldn't be nearly as bad if the person/ ghoul was a mate of one of the ghouls in the pack. If the person/ ghoul was a mate then the other ghoul could potentially die of a broken heart. I read on with amazement at these interesting creatures I forget most of the time that they are not completely human.
Is this what Sister Imperator meant by it's to dangerous for me to stop being around them it will affect their mental health. I thought to myself as I flipped to page 37 to read on how to protect myself properly for just in case something happens.

To protect yourself from a blood moon(page 20) if you're a human then you should stay far away from ghouls at this point but if you find yourself face to face with a singular or a pack of ghouls.
One) don't bleed, ghouls during a blood moon are out for blood and will do anything to break the skin so it's no a good idea for you to already have an open wound. If you do cover it immediately and if you have anything to cover the smell use it!
Two) run. Run as fast as you can.
Three) if you can't run then hide.
Four) if you can't hide then make yourself a threat. Ghouls are sensitive to loud noises during this time so if you let out a loud enough scream then they will get stunned and freeze giving you time to get out.
I finished reading the book my eyes still staring at the page. This did help a bit but I still needed to read more so I know I'm prepared for other moons this book talks about.
I kept looking at the page starting to lose focus so all the word jumbled together but I was broken out of the trance when there was a knock on my door. I quickly hid the book under my bed and opened the door to see Rain standing there with more comfy clothes on.
"We got like an hour before everyone else starts their shift and they want to play cards against humanity with you." Rain smiled.
Sounds like a plan!
