A/n: wrote this chapter in my school's lighting booth while people are singing about Jesus( this is a public school)
As I woke from my bed I fixed my hair and put my clothes on grabbed my bag and put my shoes on along with my locket. I walked out of the room and returned the key. As I walk out of the motel I see a bunch of doves flying with each other. They where all flying about I looked up and smiled. There where always doves by the church me and Lilith would feed the all the time. Once she left so did they so I don't see them as much and when I do I always think of her.
I went to a bus stop and got on not really caring where it took me. I was on the bus for a couple hours before I decided to get off in a random town. It was around 3:00 now. I got off the bus and payed the driver. This town was beautiful. Definitely will be staying here a while.
I was walking down the street It was a little cooler then it was yesterday so I'm not a sweaty mess anymore. There was a cute little art store and I might as well stop in.
I walk into the store and it smells like paint and that new book smell. There was an old man behind the counter he was tan and was balding. His skin glowed because of the sun coming through the window he had small half moon glasses that fell just on the end of his nose. He wore a yellow dress shirt with blue pants and over all looked well kept. He had a bright smile when I walked into the store.
"Good morning ma'am , how can I help you today?" His voice sounded just as happy as he looked.
A sketchbook by any chance. I signed thinking he probably doesn't understand me.
"Oh right of course there right back here let me show you- you know my daughter can sign to she's a wonderful girl. She started an organization to help deaf kids. I'm so proud of her" he ranted so happily. It's nice hearing people talk about how proud they are of there children. Although I was startled at first at the fact he can understand me.
We made it to the back of the store and there was a whole wall of sketchbooks but one caught my eye. A medium sized leather book almost the same one Lilith got me all those years ago although this one had a dove embroidered into the book. He must of saw me staring at it.
"A beautiful book isn't it my wife had the same one!" I just nodded in response, he was right it was the perfect sketchbook.
" Do you need anymore supplies" he questioned. As I grabbed the book and stuffed it between my arm and armpit.
Maybe some pencils and colored pencils?
"Of course right this way ma'am" we looped around the store with sketchbook in hand and I grabbed the pencils. I went up to go and pay and there was an adorable little bunny by the desk. It was small and had short black fur I was surprised I missed it before.
"Ah you see my bunny, she's just a baby only like a few months old. Her name is Molly!" He spoke his words came out smooth like a cup of coco.
I placed my items down on the counter.
She's adorable."I'm glad you think so- oh ma'am don't worry about paying me it was nice to have someone come in. You remind me so much of my daughter please just take them."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing this man was so nice I couldn't not pay him. I'm definitely gonna come back here.
Thank you so much I signed as I picked up my bags and pet molly on the head.
"Anytime thank you for stopping by ma'am!" He waved as I walked out the door. It's people like him that make me think the world isn't all bad. It was around 4:00.
I need a place to stay now. I thought to myself. I kept walking down the street hopefully finding a cheap hotel to stay for a couple nights. The town was kinda big.
