After all the excitement, Anakin made you lay back down on the hospital bed. You had shaken your head but did it anyway as he relaxed in a white chair. Holding your hands you in the air, you examined your new ring.
It was beautiful, with a gold band and a square diamond. It had little diamonds surrounding the big one and it was elegant yet not too out there. You smiled as you traced the edges.
"Do you like it?" Anakin asked in a sleepy voice.
You looked over to him, he was about to fall asleep. "I love it. You can go to sleep, you know."
"Are you going to sleep?"
"I can."
"Okay," He sat up and went to turn off the lights. When walked back over, he leaned over you and smiled.
"What?" You chuckled at his goofy smile as you caressed the side of his face.
"I love you."
"I love you too, sleepy head."
He leaned down and kissed your lips softly. It only lasted a few seconds but it was enough to make your heart stop and start again. He went back to his chair and reached his hand out to you. You took it and rolled onto your side, cuddling his hand.
"Are you happy?"
"Very," You responded, looking over at him. His eyes were closed as he faced you.
"Good, I'm happy too."
"I'm glad, good night."
"Good night, angel."

Numb. So very numb.
Your eyes shot open as you awoke in a cold sweat. Holding Anakin's hand tightly, you shook your head to get rid of the nightmare. It didn't work, you still felt sorry for all that Anakin went through. Worst of all, that wasn't the only thing your nightmare was about. You were still downright terrified of being taken away from you family again. This whole experience just made it worse.
Loosing up on Anakin's hand, you tried not to wake him. Yet he stirred in the chair, he could feel your pain, your sorrow, your fear. You hated this feeling, you were cold and helpless and trembling. Still, you continued to try and calm yourself. Deep breaths. You told yourself as you laid with Anakin's hand.
This was supposed to be the happiest night of your life. Instead you were in a hospital bed having nightmares about what you'd been through. It's not that bad. People have been through worse. The voice was right, it hurt but others had been hurt worse. So you tried to go back to sleep even though you were in pain.

When you woke up for the second time, Anakin had his arm out but was staring at the ceiling. He looked content as the morning sun illuminated his face. You smiled as you opened your eyes all the way and stretched out your other arm.
The sudden movement made Anakin look at you and he smiled, "Good morning." His voice was still sleepy, so you hadn't held him too long.
