Jaeje and Heeseung thanked the receptionist as they walked up the elevators, heading to their hotel rooms.
There was a meeting in Busan and they had planned to leave the same day, only booking the hotel for one night.
"Awww" Heeseung whined, pouting as usual.
"What is it now? " Jaeje sighed exasperated, knowing he wanted attention.
"Normally in movies or books they'd mess up the booking and we'd end up sharing a room with only one bed and the tension would build up. " he complained, getting a worried look from her.
"How many more romance books have you read? " she asked.
"Too many" he replied as the elevator stopped at their floor.
"Well I'm going to shower" she patted him in comfort on his back and walked away, heading for her own room.
Heeseung walked into his own room dejected, heading for the showers as he continued to sulk about the wasted work vacation.
He had just stepped out in his pajama pants as he heard a knock on his door.
Opening he saw Jaeje in a large T-shirt and shorts.
"Woah, thighs" he gasped as he eyed her up and down.
"Good you've showered" she said and lifted her computer bag from where it was was leaning on the wall.
"Huh? " he asked confused.
"We need to go through the presentation again before tomorrow, so get comfortable" she informed him and sat on one of the chairs.
"I must have offended a lot of people in my past life to be put through this suffering" he muttered and closed his door, going to get them some drinks from the mini bar.
She went through every detail of the presentation as he drank his apple juice, occasionally twisting his bendy straw.
He also had a hard time concentrating as he stared at her exposed thighs, the chocolate skin reminding him of his current predicament.
"Would you pay attention?! " she exclaimed, kicking her leg towards his face, but not actually touching him.
He caught the leg in mid air and wiggled his eyebrows as she glared at him, removing his grip.
"Stop looking, my thighs are too big" she mumbled, carrying a small blanket from the couch to drape over her legs.
"What do you mean? They're perfect, please don't! " he wailed.
"Shut up, let's get this over with"
✤
About an hour later and they were done, both their bottles empty.
"Finally" Heeseung yawned as he got up, going to ease himself.
Coming back he found a passed out Jaeje, computer still on her lap.
"Going to work herself to death, literally" he muttered and went to wake her up, pausing as he looked at her exhausted face.
"She's worked on this harder than me" he said as he placed the computer on the small desk, lifting her and placing on his bed, covering her with his blanket.
He sat by her side, petting her hair as she slept soundly, too exhausted to be woken up by his hand.
He wasn't sure how long he sat there, wondering how he had gotten to that point of his life.
"I'm going to mess everything up, I'm going to do it in a way that I can't come back from, because I don't know how to hold on to good things, I'm a very bad person, and you deserve a lot better, but I'm selfish, so I'll hold on until you eventually leave on your own" he whispered, giving her a kiss on her forehead, before going to lay next to her, eyes closing shut as he lays his head on the pillow.
Jaeje's eyes drifted open as she felt no more movement beside her, watching Heeseung peacefully sleep, keeping himself at a distance.
Without making too much noise she shifted closer until she was laying in the crook of neck, eyes closing again.
"Takes one to know one" she mumbled and finally drifted off to sleep.
✤
"Why did I agree to this? " Jaeje dead panned as Heeseung dragged her towards the pool. They had concluded their meeting about an hour ago and they still had the whole day before they plane took off at 10pm.
"Because even you know you need to relax, swim around, order all the margaritas you want, it's right back to work once we get back" Heeseung replied, getting two towels from the staff."When you put it like that.... " she drifted off, taking one if the towels and see went to place her things on a pool chair.
"Come on, let's dive in! " Heeseung exclaimed with excitement, walking towards the deep end.
"No no no, that I don't do" Jaeje quickly refused, stepping back.
"Come on, I'll hold on to you" he tried to persuade.
"Nope, do it yourself, I'm going to lay here and sleep." She persisted.
"Nooo, you can sleep on the plane, ok fine I won't make you jump in" he compromised, not wanting her to spend the little vacation they had on the pool chair.
"Alright fine" Jaeje said after giving it a long thought.
She dropped her towel on the chair as she heard a splash behind her, turning to see Heeseung already swimming around.
Rolling her eyes, she carefully got in, immediately entering a floaty.
"Seriously?" Heeseung asked as he saw her drifting around, her head resting lazily on the floaty.
"Let me drift away my stress" she mumbled to him, eyes still closed.
"O well, at least you trapped yourself" he sighed defeated, pushing her around as him swam slowly. Luckily, there weren't many people around so there was some much needed relaxing atmosphere.
"I'm thirsty" she complained after a couple minutes.
"You're in water" he replied, earning an unimpressed look.
"You got me in here, so you get out" she reasoned.
Heeseung didn't put up a fight and got out, ordering them a drink at the juice bar.
He carefully walked back with the two drinks in his hand to be welcomed to the sight of some wannabe hot shot laughing with Jaeje, said girl looking at energetic as ever.
"Excuse me" Heeseung said icily, handing Jaeje her drink as he placed his down at their table.
"Oh, I'm sorry are you two...? " he drifted off, looking very disappointed.
"No no not at all, but I'll see you around" Jaeje smirked with a wink as the man gave a chuckle and said goodbye, going back to his friends.
"I leave for 5 minutes and you suddenly have some dude asking for your number" He said exasperated, feeling his mood sour, especially as she continued to smile in the man's direction.
"He wasn't asking for my number" she informed him as he raised an eyebrow at her.
"He was asking for yours" Jaeje revealed as she broke out in laughter, her joy increasing as Heeseung turned red to the very tip of his ears.
Turning towards the male's direction, Heeseung saw him looking his way, winking as they made eye contact, making him quickly look away.
"You know what, how about we go watch some movies in my room till we have to leave" he said dazed, taking his drink and walking away as Jaeje got out, now feeling much more joy than before.
