Jaeje was fine.
In fact she felt great.
Waking up that morning with a sore throat and aching eyes was the best way to start the morning obviously.
Jaeje got up and went straight ahead to the bathroom, falling asleep with her clothes still on, albeit she fell asleep crying, had made her really uncomfortable.
Yes, that was what was wrong with the world right now.
She looked for the most comfortable clothes she had and put them on for the day, office suits were really stuffy.
"No work today? " Hyejin asked as Jaeje stepped into the kitchen were her friend was currently having breakfast.
"Finally using some of my days off" that was not true, it was a complete lie, in fact Jaeje had one of the worst nights which ended up with her quitting because she either had too much self respect or was trying to salvage whatever was left of it.
But that's not important, let's move on. She'll inform Hyejin later, or maybe she'll run away from expressing herself like she always does.
That sounds better.
"Alright then, maybe I should use mine too" Hyejin sighed, highly considering the option.
"You really should, men- bosses are hard work" Jaeje agreed, grabbing an apple from the fridge.
"Where are you going? " Hyejin questioned.
"Need to drop something off at the office, then explore a bit more, haven't gotten the time" and with that Jaeje headed out the door, ready to have her peaceful day.
✤
"Hey, why are you..? " Nari drifted off as she Jaeje rushed into the office.
"Ummm can't say or stay" Jaeje quickly replied.
"Is he in? " she asked, immediately stopping.
"Not yet" Nari answered and Jaeje nodded before heading up.
Walking into his office she glanced around, remembering when she had first walked in on Heeseung making out with a random girl, and had ended up making out with him in the same room as well.
But that wasn't important, not at all.
Sighing she placed the letter on his desk and left before she'd be reminded of anything else.
"I'll see you around? " Jaeje asked Nari.
"I'm always at the desk" Nari agreed and Jaeje laughed a bit sourly before heading out again. Hopefully for good this time.
✤
"I can't believe you have me working overtime" Jaeje rolled her eyes as her boss swung his legs back and forth, sitting on the desk as she took his chair.
"Well I have sadly sprained my only good writing and signing hand" Heeseung sighed dramatically waving his 'bad' hand before wincing in pain.
"Ughh, the pain" he feigned, making Jaeje tsk and go back to what she was doing.
"Well sitting on this chair I have the power to tell you to go sit somewhere else till I get this all done, then I will go home and pray tomorrow comes slowly so I won't have to see you so soon" Jaeje advised, making Heeseung pout.
"You really know how to hurt my feelings" Heeseung complained.
"I take pleasure in your pain" Jaeje responded.
"Oh you do? " Heeseung smirked, leaning forward.
"This is why nothing ever gets done when you're around" Jaeje rolled her eyes for what was probably the 40th time.
"Alright I'll leave you alone, let's see how you handle that" Heeseung huffed and stood to go sit on the couch, crossing his arms as he stared at the girl who paid him no mind.
'She's lucky she's so cute, really why is she so pretty? I'm jealous, but hehe at least I get to stay by her side, take that every other man in the world' Heeseung thought mischievously and began to play games on his phone to keep him busy.
'Narcissistic man child, but he's cute so I'll allow it, for tonight. ' Jaeje thought and continued with the file.
It was another hour before she was done and she sighed as she got up, noticing Heeseung had been quiet for too long for comfort.
Looking over she saw that said man had fallen asleep, his phone dangling from one hand as his chest moved slowly.
Smiling, she went over to wake him up, though she did take her time.
"Are you done? " he yawned softly as he opened his eyes.
"Yes, now you can go home and take care of that hand" she said sarcastically.
"Well my hand isn't really sprained" he said, still in sleep mode.
"Really?! " she exclaimed, not really trying to hide her fake shock.
"Well I never get to see you after you leave, so I wanted a few extra hours, just to keep seeing you, but I fell asleep" he muttered sadly.
"Well you can drive me home, beats disturbing Hyejin to come get me" Jaeje offered as Heeseung's eyes lit up.
"Fine by me" he replied and quickly got his car keys, heading out the door.
....................
"Thank you for dropping me off" Jaeje said as the car stopped in front of the apartment building.
"Thank you for letting me" he batted his eyelashes.
"Whatever" she replied and removed the seat belt, turning to open the door when she suddenly came to a halt.
"I just realized you haven't asked for any form of physical contact today" she said, making him widen his eyes in realization.
"Oh! I was so happy I got to spend some extra time with you that I forgot, it's alright, I'll survive" he said, trying to seem patient, which his inner self was scolding him for.
"Eh, why not" Jaeje shrugged and leaned over to give him a peck, getting out the car as Heeseung's face formed into one of pure euphoria.
✤
Jaeje walked back into the house later that night, carrying some take out which she planned to spend her night with.
Quickly showering and changing into her pj's, she sat on her bed and played a random show on Netflix from her phone and she not so gracefully started eating.
Today had been perfectly normal, no drama, no fake love life, no Heeseung.
Okay maybe everything wasn't exactly fine.
But ignoring her feelings was what she knew best, so it's what she would do.
For today, at least.
A/N: no I'm not dead, just a high school senior trying to finish school before it finishes me :)
