After dealing with a troubled Jay after he finally scored a date with Hyejin, Heeseung texted Sunghoon and Jake about coming over and soon found himself at their front door.
"What's it now?" Jake asks as Heeseung walks in, quickly diving onto their couch.
"I have a date, and I said it would be a surprise" he filled them in, suspiciously smiling.
"The person? or the date itself?" Sunghoon questions, coming to sit on one of the couches as he crosses his arms.
"Oh, the person is Jaeje, but I have no idea where I'm taking her" he says, gaining incredulous looks from both his friends.
"I'm sorry, what?" Jake asks as he sits next to his friend, utterly confused.
"Well it's a long story but we came to an agreement" Heeseung tells them.
"Okay, I won't ask, but then why are you here?" Sunghoon questioned.
"I have no idea where to take her" Heeseung still smiled despite the predicament.
"Just do what you always do, some nice restaurant with a VIP section" Jake told him, knowing how these "dates" always went.
"No, no restaurant this time, to cliche" he denied the suggestion, finding the setting too boring.
"Fine then, do something that isn't expensive, but impressive, like all these romcoms" Sunghoon told him.
"That's perfect! I'll plan a picnic" Heeseung exclaimed, jumping off the sofa.
"Where would I be without you guys" he said as he gave them a hug.
"Being beat up by a bunch of heels" Jake replied.
"Ok get out of our house" Sunghoon told him, getting up to open the door.
"No, I'm hungry" Heeseung whined, going for their kitchen instead.
"Eat, then out" Jake told him, then went to dish out the food for all of them.
"Agreed" Heeseung nodded his head and sat down.
"Let's go out this Friday" Heeseung told Jaeje as they both sat in his office the next morning, looking through a deal.
"Friday, don't we have work? " Jaeje teased as Heeseung rolled his eyes.
"You can use one of your days off, your boss won't mind" Heeseung retaliated.
"I'm sure he wouldn't, fine, where's this happening? " she asked.
"Olympic Park, find a nice spot by the lake, I can show you around, you haven't had time to properly explore this city, so we can use this as an opportunity" He answered, feeling pleased with himself.
"That's actually a good idea" Jaeje told him, surprised he had come up with it.
"I had help, but overall I was the genius" he said, fanning himself.
"Sure why not, when you go to buy the food don't forget ice cream" she said aid getting up, needing to go collect a few documents.
"Oh I'm making all the food" he replied much to her concern.
"You're going to cook? Do you know how?" She asks, not wanting to pretend the food was good.
"Trust me, I'll get the ice cream on my way" he reassured her.
"Fine then" and with that, she walked out.
Skip to Friday and Heeseung was alone in the kitchen, all his family members out and giving the cooks the morning and afternoon off.
Their date was around 1 and it was currently 9, which gave him just enough time to prepare all the meals he had planned.
Skip to an hour and a half later and things weren't looking so good, he had already wasted the ingredients for about 3 meals when he received a call from Jaeje.
"How's it going? Hyejin for the life of her couldn't leave me alone when I told her I wasn't going in today, I figure I'll have to deal with that later in the day, so you better make this worth it" she said as she laid on the couch at her place, knowing she still had time.
"Umm, so I might be a little late, food troubles" he said, taking in the messed up Kitchen.
"And you said you could cook" Jaeje rolled her eyes.
"Well it seemed a lot easier in the videos" Heeseung whined.
"That's because they're experts" she told him.
"Well.... " Heeseung trailed off, not wanting to admit defeat when he got an idea.
"Come over and help me, make it part of the date" he suggested, hoping she'd agree.
"I'm no expert" she said incredulous.
"We'll figure it out, that way I won't be blamed for the food going to shit" he pouted, though she couldn't see.
"Alright stop bitching I'm coming, you're lucky I'm bored" she told him, getting up and putting on her slippers.
"You're repaying me for the cab fair"
"Wow you are bad at this" Jaeje said as she walked into the kitchen, dropping her small backpack at the door way.
"Yeah well, don't believe everything you see on the internet" Heeseung rolled his eyes.
"Now you learn that, alright throw whatever you've made away before it poisons the air" she said, going to the sink to wash her hands.
"You're so mean" Heeseung said as he dropped the burnt food into the bin.
"Let's make the salad first" she said as she wore an apron.
"You're not cutting those right" Heeseung said as he saw the way she was cutting the spinach.
"Yes I am" she disagreed as she rolled her eyes.
"No you're not, see" he said as he came up behind her, holding her hands in his as he showed which way they were meant to be cut.
"My way seems much better" she muttered as he kept helping her.
"Just admit it's better this way" he said.
"Alright fine, we'll cut them your way" she groaned.
"Good" he said and let go of her hands, coming to hold her waist instead, putting his head on her shoulder.
"Shouldn't you be doing something, so this is faster" she said, but didn't bother to push him aside.
"I should" he agreed, but made no movement.
"This is nice" he said as he lifted his head, tilting hers to the side to plant a quick kiss on her lips.
"I agree" she said, but at the end quickly held the knife to his throat.
"Now get back to work"
