"Did you really just slap me?" Heeseung walked into her office about 10 minutes later, after dealing with Mi-sun and sending her home.
"If it still stings then yes, if it doesn't, means I didn't slap you hard enough" she was already getting her things packed to leave, happy Hyejin would be here soon to take her away from the delusional man.
"Did I come on too strong?" He questions and she turns to look at him, giving her most exasperated look.
"What do you think?" she asks and grabs her bag, ready to leave.
"What if it's just us next time? I'll even be as sober as you like" he grips her wrist again and pulls her close, giving her puppy eyes.
"There is seriously something wrong with you, do you only hire secretaries you can sleep with?" she accuses, glaring.
"Depends, do you want to sleep with me?" gone the puppy eyes replaced with a smirk.
"Oh my-" Jaeje pushed him away and walked fast to the elevator, done with the entire conversation.
"You know there's a thing called personal space" she told him after he followed her into the elevator.
"You're not listening to me" he said.
"I am listening to you, you're just not making any sense, but then again I don't think you have any" she replied, standing as far away from him as possible and walking out once they finally reached the ground floor.
"Let me take you home and we can have a peaceful conversation" he followed her out as they passed Nari, who acted as if she didn't see either of them.
"Thank you, but no thank you" she waited at the entrance, deciding he would go away if she just ignored him.
"Fine then, we'll talk tomorrow when you come in" he said gripping her arm again for the third time that day, but received no response.
"You are coming back to work right?" he asked when he noticed Hyejin pull up.
Jaeje quickly got into the car and dismissed Hyejin's worry when asked what had happened, making up an excuse which she seemed to buy, for the time being at least.
"You fucked up didn't you?" Jake says as Heeseung flops down on the couch of their penthouse.
"Maybe?" he replies, scrunching up his face in confusion, but sighs when he sees the look on both Sunghoon and Jake's faces.
"Ok I may or may not have asked Mi-Sun to come around" he confesses and gets two pillows thrown at his head.
"You're an idiot, on her first day you decide to invite someone to your office? to fuck no doubt" Sunghoon tells him.
"In my defense she seemed interested, maybe asking her to join wasn't the best way to solve the situation, but the Whisky in my system wasn't helping my lack of proper decision making" Heeseung continues.
"You asked her- oh wow" Jake stares at his friend in shock.
"You need to apologize, quickly" Sunghoon advices.
"I know, hopefully she even comes into to work tomorrow" he says resting his head back and closing his eyes.
"You go home and start thinking about what you're going to say" Sunghoon lifts him from their couch and pushes him towards the door.
"No, can't I just stay the night?" Heeseung begs, not wanting to go.
"Bye" Sunghoon replies as the elevator closes.
"What are we going to do about him?" he questions as he comes back into the living room.
"Nothing we can do, because at the end of the day he'll apologize when he doesn't actually feel sorry"
After making peace with Hyejin the next day about not informing her of Heeseung's nature, deciding to keep what happened to herself, she's dropped off at work and takes a deep breath before walking in.
As if on cue, the minute she reaches the top floor and opens the door to her boss's office, she's greeted with the sight of him on the sofa, having a glass of wine in his hand with another glass waiting on the table.
"Right on time" he says, dropping his glass. He walks up to her and leads her towards the sofa, motioning for her to take the other glass as he pours himself some more.
"I don't drink during work hours" she tells him stiffly, declining the drink.
"Besides, you should save them for another hook up, shall I add one to your schedule?" she asks sarcastically, taking out the tablet she had gotten from Nari the previous day and opening up his schedule for the day.
"One, this is just apple juice and two, I'm actually here to talk about yesterday" he says, showing her the bottle which clearly shows the name of the drink.
"I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable" he speaks after a beat of silence.
"If?" she asks.
"I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable" he corrects himself.
"Truth?" she asks him, taking the glass and gulping down its contents.
"I don't care about your apology, I will forget about it because I got a good deal with this job, but if you're looking for a secretary who will do more than what they're supposed to, I will gladly leave" she tells him, confident and sure of her words.
Heeseung stares at her in amazement for a while, pondering over what she just said before nodding with a sigh, not accepting defeat though.
"So, what you're saying is that there is no way you'd ever take an interest in me? at least not anymore?" he asks, resting his head on his hand.
"Don't you ever give up?" she asks exasperated.
"No, not really, I'll keep all of my personal interest away from work, but I won't lie and say I'm not interested in you Mrs. Lee" he says honestly.
"Let me get this straight, you'd like to try it out with me while going about seeing all your other girlfriends?" she questions.
"I don't do girlfriends, though I've had many encounters where the girls think I do, but you seem more sensible than to believe that" he replies.
"Ok" she answers after a beat of silence.
"Ok as in you'll do it?!" he exclaims, not expecting this to be this easy.
"Ok as in I'll let you keep doing what you're doing, but don't get your hopes up Sir, if you try too hard you might just end up falling in love with me" she jokes.
"Let's see who ends up falling in love Mrs. Lee"
Yeah, Heeseung definitely liked her a lot.
