Heeseung was sick.
Blocked nose, chesty cough, hurting throat, anything you could think of.
And he hated it.
Everyone had already gone out of the house to start their day and all he could do was twist and turn in his bed as the uncomfortable feeling grew in his body.
He was officially going to dedicate himself to living a completely healthy lifestyle.
"Nari said you called in sick" were the first soothing words he had heard all day.
"As much as I would have loved to once again fill your day with joy with my presence I am currently hanging on by last string of consciousness" he said, grinning from ear to ear as if she had just said the most wonderful thing in the world.
"I also see your last string of sanity has also been cut. Anyways, I'm going to have rearrange your schedule for the rest of the week and cancel on the dinner with the Koh's tonight, that won't be an interesting thing to do" even though he wasn't there physically, he could clearly see the roll of her eyes.
"Right, shit, I totally forgot about them, it's gonna be a hassle to arrange another date, you have to go there by yourself" Heeseung dragged a hand over his face at the reminder of the dinner. It had taken them weeks to finalize this deal and the Koh's weren't exactly the easiest people to communicate with.
"Excuse me? You can't leave me with those people, I'll get eaten alive" Jaeje was quick to disagree, she could hardly stand the egocentric son they had the meeting with all those weeks ago, she would hardly like to be in the presence of the people who raised him.
"I'm begging you here, all they need to do is sign the papers and you can be on your way, we're going to waste money if we wait any longer" Heeseung pleaded.
"Oh my days, ok fine, I'll go, but if I don't come in tomorrow, blame yourself" and with that she hung up.
❣
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Jaeje did not want to be here.
Putting aside her ever obvious social anxiety, the last thing she wanted was to be here alone, at least with Heeseung she knew all eyes weren't on her but on the annoyingly talkative next to her.
Currently being walked to the table by the restaurant hostess, she went through her head over and over again about what to say and how to say it.
"Oh Good evening" what surprised Jaeje wasn't the words, but more of who said, the only person who was there to say it.
"Oh Min-Seok, I expected more people, are they still on their way? " she asked, even though the two sitter table was clear as day.
"After my family heard Mr. Lee wouldn't be making it they saw no need to join, don't worry I assure you I'm much fun" Min-Seok said with an overconfident grin.
"I don't doubt that" she agreed half heartedly. Taking a sit opposite him she asked the waiter for a glass of water first.
"So let's not take up each other's time, we can have a quick meal while you ask any questions you have, we can sign right after and be on our way" she summarized, wanting to be out of here and back in her bed as soon as possible.
"Let's be civil, I beg you" Jaeje pleaded as the waiter came back with her water, asking if they were both ready to order.
After getting their orders the waiter left them to continue where they left off.
