Anita was alarmed at the sight of him.

"Caspian? What the hell are you doing here?"

A spark of lightning suddenly shot through the dark grey skies. A moment later, there was a loud clap of thunder.

"I wanted to come see you."

"How did you get my address?"

"I found it online."

She was a bit disturbed that he had done that. It seemed a little...creepy. "Why on earth would you do that?"

"Because I was worried about you."

"Caspian, you can't be here. You need to leave. Right now."

"Why not? What's going on, Anita? Don't say it's nothing. I know that's not true."

She scoffed. "This is so not cool. Please, just go."

"This is because of that crazy guy, isn't it?"

"Caspian-"

"I know this is about him. Did he tell you to stop talking to me?"

"No, that's not-"

"Did he threaten you? Did he say if you don't stop talking to me he will hurt you?"

"Caspian, please. Just go!"

"Just tell me what's going on. Why is he doing this to you?"

"I don't know!"

"Yes, you do. Is he some kind of pimp? Is he trying to make you his prostitute?"

She was overwhelmed by all of his questioning. She wanted him to leave. Loki would be arriving soon and if he saw him, he would be doomed. "No. He's not a pimp."

"Then who is he?"

She shook her head. "I can't tell you. You won't believe me."

"Why wouldn't I?"

"You just wouldn't."

He sighed. His annoyed expression softened.

"Anita," he said, his voice coming out gentler. "Anita, you can tell me. I'll believe whatever you say. Just tell me, who is he? Why is he doing this to you?"

She knew that if she told him the truth, he would not believe her. However, she was about to leave forever anyway. No matter how he reacted to what she told him, it would not matter.

"Okay. I'll tell you."

He appeared surprised that she had said that. He was expecting her to keep lying.

"Can you tell me inside? I'm going to get soaked if I stay out here."

She did not move or speak for a moment, staring at him, thinking. That was a bad idea. She would be putting him in great danger. She knew she should have refused but instead, she stepped aside so he could enter. "Come on."

He entered, a small smile across his face. She looked around anxiously. She hoped she had not just made a huge mistake.

She led him to the living room and turned off the tv. He sat down on the couch.

"Nice house. It's cozy," he said.

"I need to make this quick," she said, ignoring his comment. She closed all the curtains in the room."He's coming soon. If you're here when he gets here, he will kill you. I mean it. No matter what I say, no matter how insane what I say sounds, just listen. Okay?"

He nodded. "Okay."

She sat down beside him, took a deep breath and let it out. "The guy who is stalking me is Loki. Loki, like from Marvel. The Norse god."

He raised an eyebrow and a puzzled look appeared on his face. "What?"

"I don't know how it's even possible but, he's real. He's a real god. He's not like in the movies. This is the real him. He's the king of Asgard."

She sat down beside him.

"On my first day of college, I met this guy. I thought he was cool at first. He was nice. But then, I found out that he was some kind of hunter from Asgard. He hunted me down on my way back to my dorm after a party and he took me there. That's where I met Loki. He told me he had chosen me to be his new slave. I don't know why. Ever since then, he has made my life awful. He tortures me. He does...horrible, disgusting things to me. He makes me do gross things. If I disobey him, he beats me or even hurts people I care about. He hurt my mom. He hurt my friend. And he said if I do not stop talking to you, he's going to hurt you."

Caspian was speechless. All he could do was stare at her quizzically.

"He's coming to get me soon to take me away to Asgard so I can be his slave, forever. He wants to marry his other slave and make her queen. Queen of Asgard. She's from here too. He kidnapped her a few years ago."

She put her hand on his.

"Please, Caspian. Just leave. Forget about me. I don't want him to hurt you. I care about you. I haven't known you for that long but...if anything were to happen to you because of me, I would never get over it. So please, just go. Forget about me. After today, I won't exist here anymore, anyway."

She was finished. She looked him in the eyes. He looked like he had just been told that Santa Claus was real.

"What," he said flatly.

"You wanted the truth. That's the truth."

"Anita, are you okay? Are you feeling alright?"

She knew he would not believe her.

She stood and groaned. "I knew you wouldn't believe me."

"How can I believe that? You're telling me that some comic book character is real and he somehow found you and made you his slave?"

"He's not just some comic book character! He's based off of a Norse god."

"From Norse Mythology. Mythology, Anita. He's a myth. He's not real."

"He is real!" she yelled. "He's real and he's awful! He's a monster!"

"Calm down. Look, do you think you could maybe have schizophrenia or something?"

"Excuse me?" she said, offended.

"I'm sorry. I'm not trying to come off as rude but you sound like someone who's having a schizophrenic episode. I watched a documentary about it before and-"

"I'm not schizophrenic! I'm not crazy!"

"I didn't say you were crazy. Anita, sit down. How about I call someone for you? I can call your mother, if you give me her number. Or I can take you to the hospital."

She laughed and put her face in her hands. "I shouldn't have told you. This was a bad idea."

"Look, you're obviously not well right now. You don't see it but I can. Maybe those drugs made whatever is going on with you worse. If you go to the hospital, they can help you. They can give you something to fix whatever is going on. You can be happy again and come back to school and we can still see each other."

"Just go! Please. I shouldn't have let you in."

"I can't leave you alone like this."

"Go!" she shouted.

"I'm not leaving you alone. You could hurt yourself."

"If you don't go right now, you're going to be the one who ends up hurt."

He seemed a bit taken aback by what she said. "Are you going to hurt me?"

"No," said a third voice.

Anita's heart stopped. She recognized the voice immediately. She looked at the entrance of the living room. In the door frame stood her worst nightmare.

"She's not going to hurt you. But I am," said Loki, a dagger in his hand.
