Anita woke up early the next morning. Unsurprisingly, she had hardly rested. She got out of bed and left her room. The house was empty. Her mother had left earlier to go to work. Steven was gone too. She did not know where he had gone and did not care.

These was her last few hours in her world and she planned on enjoying them as best as she could. She was going to go out. She threw on some clothes quickly. Nothing special. Just a pair of dark blue jeans and a dark grey hoodie. She put on a black coat and left her home.

First, she spent a couple of hours walking around her neighborhood while listening to her favorite songs. She used to walk around it often with her father in the mornings before he got really sick. She took in her surroundings with every one of her senses. She did not want to forget anything about it. The snow covered sidewalks. The black tar roads. The smell of pine trees hanging in the fresh air. The sound of cars driving past her and birds chirping above her on telephone wires. The cold winter wind gently hitting her in the face.

After that, she decided that she wanted to go get some food. She headed on foot to her favorite restaurant in the area. It was a small burger joint. She used to like going to it after school in high school. When she arrived, she placed her order, a double cheese burger, large fries and a large soft drink, and paid. She went to an empty table, sat down and waited for her food to come, playing games and browsing social media on her phone in the meantime. God, her phone. She was going to miss it. She was certain Loki would not let her bring it with her to Asgard.

After a little while, her food came. She took her time with her meal, making sure to enjoy every single bite. She savored every single part of the cheeseburger. The soft buns. The thin dill pickles. The thick and creamy cheese. The meaty beef patty. The lettuce, the tomatoes. The ketchup, the mayonnaise. She was not even a fan of mayonnaise but in that moment, she enjoyed it. Then, she nibbled on the salty, crispy shoestring fries. When she was done with all the food, she washed it down with a cold orange soda. She swished it around in her mouth like it was mouthwash, taking in all the sugary sweetness.

This was her last supper.

Once she completely finished the soda, she discarded her trash and left the restaurant. She was not ready to return home. There was something else she wanted to do. She went to a park near her home. A park she used to go to all the time when she was a child. Her father used to take her there and they would play for hours and sometimes even have picnics. She would sometimes come after school in middle and high school too, just to get out of the house. She would sit on the grass or on a bench and do homework or mess around on her phone. She would even play on the play area despite being far too old to.

The park was basically empty. Likely because of how cold it was outside. She did not mind the weather. She was going to miss it. Winter was her favorite season. Asgard did not have winter. Not that she knew of.

She went to the swings and took a seat. She started to swing herself, kicking her legs out towards the sky and then bringing them back. She soon found herself swinging high. A small smile spread across her face. She giggled a bit, like she was a little kid again.

She spent a few hours there. She played on the swings, the merry go round, the climbing nets, even the slides. Then, she spent a while sitting under a big tree, doing nothing. Simply enjoying her surroundings.

When the sun began to set, she decided it was time to head home. Loki would be coming soon. She walked slowly, taking the long way home. When she got there, she found that the house was still empty. Happy to be alone, she went to the living room and turned on the television, deciding to watch a few of her favorite shows before she left. She laid down on the couch and curled up into a ball.

After a while, something made her perk up. It was the sound of knocking. Someone was knocking on the front door. She had no idea who it could be. Loki did not knock. He just entered. Her mother and Stephen would not knock. They could get in on their own.

She got up and went to the front door. She opened the door without looking out the peep hole. She could not believe who was standing before her. Her heart sunk.

"Caspian?"

Caspian stood on the porch, hands in the pockets of his black puffer jacket, a sheepish smile on his face. "Hey."
